Global YO is our Valencia pick on the strength of 23 of 25 Spain reports, an 8.0 test score and the lowest prices we track. In our speed test, upload was nearly as fast as download, 72 against 74 Mbps, which is good news for video calls from a Ruzafa café.

The weak points are support (5 out of 10) and the app, which is the only place to buy and stops working when your data runs out. The newest Spain review, from August 2026, said speeds lagged behind the carriers' best. Our review of Global YO shows the speed test.

Holafly's Spain page names Orange, Movistar, Vodafone and Yoigo (checked August 2026), and 60 of 67 Spain travelers had it working. Our own review calls it a fit for remote workers who do not want to count gigabytes.

The catch is speed: about 30 Mbps in our test, and one Spain-based user could not work on a laptop with it near Barcelona. It scored 6.2, with 4 for price, and a 10-day plan cost $32.90 as of August 2026. Tethering stops at 1 GB a day. Look at our review of Holafly.

Nomad is the only tested provider with a positive Valencia report, 2 of 2. A Portuguese traveler used it in Valencia with no issues, and an American got only 4G in Madrid, Zaragoza and Valencia, which still handled maps and search. Across Spain it worked for 71 of 84.

GoMoWorld scored 10 for speed in our test and did not slow down after 10 GB in a day, measured outside Spain. It also issues invoices with VAT details, useful if a company pays for your data. It worked for 18 of 22 Spain travelers and scored 8.2 overall.

Saily's Spain page allows unlimited hotspot use (August 2026), so you can run a laptop from your phone. It scored 8.5 in our test, with the best app (9) and support (10), and it includes an ad blocker that trims data use.

GigSky worked for 26 of 33 Spain travelers and scored 7.2 in our test, with 9 for support. Its app keeps working after your data runs out, which saves a trip to a café for Wi-Fi.

Airalo's only Valencia report is a failure: the traveler lost the connection and found help hard to reach. Across Spain it worked for 21 of 51, the lowest share we track, and its Spanish networks are unclear.

It scored 7.3 in our test, helped by 9 for purchase and installation. If you already use it elsewhere, test it on arrival and keep a backup. Our review of Airalo and Airalo and Saily comparison explain the trade-off.

Alicante, Zaragoza and the Rest of Eastern Spain

Down the coast, a Nomad user in Alicante found Vodafone 4G almost unusable, which our data files under Eastern Spain. Inland, Nomad worked in Zaragoza. Across the sea, Nomad worked for 3 of 4 Mallorca travelers if you take the ferry.

Mobile Networks in Valencia and What Happens in an Outage

Spain's four network owners are Telefónica's Movistar, Zegona's Vodafone España, Digi, and MasOrange, home of the Orange and Yoigo brands. Opensignal's May 2026 report named Movistar the fastest for downloads, 96.7 Mbps, while Digi won both 5G speed awards on a small network of its own.

After the 2024 Valencia floods and the 28 April 2025 blackout, Spanish press reported a CNMC proposal to make operators share networks in emergencies. We could not confirm it in the CNMC's own documents. For a visitor, the lesson is simple: an eSIM that can use more than one network has a better chance when one fails.
