Global YO takes the Benidorm spot because it combines a strong Spain record, 23 of 25, with our 8.0 test score and a 10 for price. A month of data at 10 GB was listed at $5.40 in Spain (as of August 2026), so a long stay can mean monthly top-ups rather than a pricey unlimited plan.

Holafly's Spain page names Orange, Movistar, Vodafone and Yoigo (checked August 2026), so a busy August evening on Levante beach has more networks to fall back on. It worked for 60 of 67 Spain travelers, and one Briton called it the right fix when his own data failed in Seville.

Nomad worked for 71 of 84 Spain travelers and for both Valencia travelers who mention it. The Costa Blanca report is less kind: in Alicante, one user found Vodafone 4G so slow he could barely open pages, and it used about 2 GB a day, mostly on Google Maps.

GoMoWorld fits long stays best among the tested providers. A British reviewer had faultless coverage in Spain for 30 days, and our test saw no slowdown even after 10 GB in a day. It scored 8.2 and worked for 18 of 22 Spain travelers.

Airalo worked for just 21 of 51 Spain travelers, the lowest share we track. Up the coast, a Valencia traveler lost the connection and struggled to get help, and several August 2026 reviewers called Spain poor.

It scored 7.3 in our test, but 4 for price, and its Spanish networks are unclear. Before a long stay, read our hands-on Airalo test and the providers we would pick instead.

Jetpac, eSIM4Travel and Untested Providers on the Costa Blanca

Jetpac (6.7, 14 of 16 in Spain) sells 30 GB for 30 days at about $24.99 (as of August 2026), a fit for heavy monthly use. eSIM4Travel tops our test at 8.8 but has one failed Spain report, too few to judge. ByteSIM (5.3) is missing from our Spain report set.

Untested providers stay unranked. Roamless (13 of 14 in Spain) sells pay-as-you-go credit that never expires, handy for repeat visits. 2 GB suits a weekend of maps, messages and restaurant bookings along the seafront.

5 GB covers a beach week if the hotel Wi-Fi handles your streaming.

10 GB fits a fortnight with trips to Guadalest, Altea and Alicante.

20 GB suits a month in an apartment, or a family sharing one hotspot.

Unlimited plans work for long stays with no Wi-Fi, but daily caps apply: Nomad slows after 2 GB a day, and Holafly limits hotspot use to 1 GB a day.

Benidorm and the Costa Blanca: One Warning From Alicante

The only Costa Blanca report is a Nomad failure in Alicante, filed under Eastern Spain: slow Vodafone 4G and about 2 GB of data a day. One report proves little, but it shows why a plan with more than one network helps in busy coastal towns.

Valencia Reports Up the Coast

Valencia adds 3 reports: Nomad worked for 2 of 2 and Airalo for 0 of 1. Combined with Alicante, Nomad stands at 2 of 3, still too few to overrule the Spain-wide pick.

Mobile Networks in Benidorm and the Costa Blanca

Four companies run Spain's networks: Movistar, Vodafone España, Digi and MasOrange, which runs Orange and Yoigo as one network. Opensignal's May 2026 report put Movistar ahead for download speed, at 96.7 Mbps. Vodafone says its 4G reaches more than 99% of the population, and it publishes a coverage map by address.

Coverage is not the Benidorm problem; peak-season load is. The Alicante complaint was about a slow Vodafone connection, not a missing one. Holafly is the only provider here that names Movistar, Orange and Vodafone, so it has the most networks to fall back on.

Inland villages are a different story. The CNMC found only 82.2% of rural municipalities have even one 5G network, so expect 4G in the hills behind the coast. Our 4G and 5G comparison explains why that is fine for maps.

How Much Data You Need in Benidorm, From a Week to a Winter

For a beach week with hotel Wi-Fi, 5 GB usually covers maps, messages and photos. Our Spain reports range from about 1 GB a day to about 2 GB a day, and the Alicante Nomad user hit the top of that range using mostly Google Maps.

Day Trips From Benidorm: Guadalest, Altea, Alicante and Valencia

Guadalest, Altea, Calpe, the Algar waterfalls, Alicante and Valencia are all in Spain, so any Spain plan covers them. The mountain villages inland have fewer networks, so save offline maps before you drive up.

Spanish Prepaid SIM for a Long Benidorm Stay vs a Travel eSIM

For a winter on the coast, a local SIM often wins. In August 2026 the comparison site Kelisto listed Vodafone at €20.00 for 300 GB and Simyo at €14.00 for 150 GB. The same comparison data puts unlimited prepaid at €26.00 to €35.00 a month, with Orange slowing to 2 Mbps after 100 GB. You need your passport, and no NIE.

Contract lines are harder: operators ask for an IBAN, and web forms often reject non-Spanish ones.
