About us
Vefru is an eSIM comparison and review site. We compare travel data plans, test providers with plans we buy ourselves, and write guides in plain language. You get one place to pick an eSIM (a digital SIM card built into your phone) before your trip.
Why František and Jan started Vefru
Every time František Macháček and Jan Procházka traveled outside the EU, mobile data was a problem. Either there was no connection, or the roaming bill was absurd. One winter night in Toronto without online maps was enough.
When travel eSIMs appeared, they built a comparison tool for their own trips. It worked, so they opened it to everyone. Today it covers 200+ countries, and you can search one country or a whole route at once.
What you can do on Vefru
Compare eSIM plans
Pick a country, a data size and a trip length. Our comparison tool sorts plans from every provider we track by price. It also finds one eSIM for several countries, which most comparison sites can't do.
Read eSIM provider reviews
Each review starts with a plan we paid for. We install it, run speed tests and contact the help desk. You see the screenshots, the score and the problems we hit.
Check eSIM guides
Country guides show a tested top pick, current prices and the local networks each provider uses. Other guides cover setup, troubleshooting and how much data you need.
How Vefru tests eSIM providers
We buy a plan
We pay the public price with our own money. We don't accept free plans from providers.
We install and measure
The eSIM goes on our own phones. We run speed tests and check which local networks it uses.
We contact the help desk
We send real questions and time the answers. We also check if help works in Czech and Polish.
We publish everything
Prices, speeds, replies and problems all go into the review, with screenshots as proof.
The result is the Vefru test score, from 0 to 10. It measures the provider, not a country. We run the speed and help desk tests from our base in Switzerland.
Country guides add a second, separate figure. It shows how often each eSIM worked in that country, based on traveler reports.
Who is behind Vefru

Co-founder and author

Co-founder and author
Vefru is a team of two. One of us worked at one of the largest Czech telecom companies. The other is a software developer. That background lets us test the technology, not repeat the marketing.
How Vefru makes money
Vefru is free to use and needs no account. Some links to providers are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
Commissions never decide a verdict. We buy every tested plan ourselves, and weak providers get weak reviews.
Vefru in English, Czech and Polish
You can read Vefru in English, Czech and Polish. Most providers work in English only. Every review says whether the provider's app and help desk work in Czech and Polish.
