Global YO is our Spain-wide pick, with 23 of 25 travelers reporting it worked and an 8.0 test score. For a long Mallorca summer, 10 GB for 30 days was listed at $5.40 in Spain (as of August 2026), the cheapest price we track.

None of its reviews mentions Mallorca or any island, so the Palma case is unproven. Support scored 5 in our test, and replies took more than 30 minutes, which hurts on a short break. Holafly has no Mallorca report, but it has a strong cruise record in our data. A Canadian senior on a 10-day Spain and Portugal cruise had an instant connection at every port. Its Spain page names Orange, Movistar, Vodafone and Yoigo (checked August 2026), and 60 of 67 Spain travelers had it working.

Plans are unlimited only, from $23.90 for 7 days (as of August 2026). Hotspot is capped at 1 GB a day, pooled over the plan, so a 7-day plan gives 7 GB to share. Our test measured about 30 Mbps and scored it 6.2. Take a look at our Holafly write-up.

Nomad is the only tested provider with 3 or more Mallorca reports, and 3 of 4 worked. A Dutch traveler activated two eSIMs the day before flying, and both connected within minutes of landing. A British visitor used it to keep in touch with family, and a Latvian said it worked perfectly on the island.

The failure came from a traveler on an unlimited plan who found the connection unstable. As of August 2026, its Spain page does not say which network it uses. GoMoWorld suits a long Mallorca stay. One British reviewer called its Spain coverage faultless for 30 days and kept it instead of buying Starlink. It worked for 18 of 22 Spain travelers and scored 8.2, with no slowdown after 10 GB in a day in our test.

Yesim worked for 16 of 16 Spain travelers, and some of its reports come from other islands, the Canaries. None names Mallorca. Its network list (Movistar, Orange and Vodafone) comes from Yesim's blog, not a product page, so we could not confirm it.

GigSky is the only provider here that sells cruise and ferry coverage, which sounds ideal for Palma's port. The reviews are sobering. Several cruise passengers got no data at sea, while one who sailed around the Canary Islands and Morocco connected most of the time.

Airalo failed every Palma and Mallorca traveler in our data, 0 of 3, and worked for 21 of 51 across Spain. One British user had a poor connection even in Palma's busy center. Another spent two hours on chat in Palma, got data the next morning, and lost it again on the bus.

A third bought Europe, Spain and France eSIMs and none worked in Mallorca. Airalo scored 7.3 in our test, with 4 for price, and its Spanish networks are unclear. Read our Airalo write-up and the alternatives we suggest.

Jetpac, eSIM4Travel and Untested Providers on Mallorca

Jetpac (6.7) worked for 14 of 16 Spain travelers and gives free lounge access when flights are delayed, handy on a busy summer airport day. eSIM4Travel scored 8.8 but has only one Spain report, too few to judge. ByteSIM (5.3) has no traveler reports from Spain.

Across Palma, Mallorca and Alcúdia there are 8 reports. Nomad leads with 3 of 4, Airalo failed 3 of 3, and Ubigi failed its one Alcúdia report. That makes Nomad the island pick, with Global YO as the cheaper Spain-wide fallback.

Ibiza and Menorca: The Other Balearic Reports

Data for the other islands is thin. Simify worked on Ibiza, with one Australian praising unlimited data without buffering, and a Maya Mobile user struggled on Menorca. Neither island has enough reports for a pick, so the Spain-wide choice applies.

Mobile Networks on Mallorca: Crowds in Palma, Gaps in the Mountains

Spain has four network owners: Movistar, Vodafone España, Digi and MasOrange, the group behind both Orange and Yoigo. Opensignal's May 2026 report named Movistar the fastest for downloads, at 96.7 Mbps. Holafly is the only provider here that names Movistar on its Spain page.

In Palma, summer crowds are the issue, and Airalo's complaints of poor data in the busy center fit that pattern. In the Tramuntana, choice shrinks: the CNMC rural report found that 94% of rural municipalities have three mobile networks, but only 82.2% have even one 5G network.

Day Trips and Ferries From Palma: Sóller, Ibiza, Menorca and Barcelona

Sóller, Valldemossa, Deià and Cap de Formentor are all on Mallorca, so your plan keeps working, but mountain roads can drop the signal. Ferries to Ibiza, Menorca, Barcelona and Valencia stay within Spain, and your eSIM works again at each port.

How to Set Up Your eSIM Before Landing in Palma

The Dutch Nomad user who activated two eSIMs the day before flying had both working within minutes of landing. Copy that plan.

1. Check the phone. It needs eSIM hardware and no carrier lock; our phone compatibility list helps.
