Best eSIM for Poland in 2026: 14 Providers Ranked by Traveler Reports

Key Takeaways

Key takeaways

Across 70 traveler reports from Poland and our tests, the best option for most trips is Ubigi: it worked well for 9 of 9 travelers who reported from Poland, on two strong networks, though its help desk never answered us. Holafly worked for all 4 who reported and uses three networks, but our test found its speed capped from the start. GigSky (3 of 3) is the help-desk pick, at a high price. Maya Mobile (15 of 17) is the unlimited choice for multi-country trips. Nomad (12 of 15) suits experienced users who need no help. eSIM4Travel is the cheapest here, with 1 report so far and no app.

The best eSIM for Poland depends more on the network behind it than on the brand on the box. Poland has four operators, and they are not equal: in Opensignal's measurements from the first quarter of 2026, T-Mobile was fastest, Play had the best coverage experience, Orange was the most reliable, and Plus came last on almost every count. Several travel eSIMs run on Plus alone, others on Orange and Play together, and none that we could confirm runs on T-Mobile. Sorting that out is the main job of this guide.

Cities are well served. Poland finished its 5G spectrum auctions late (the C-band in October 2023, 700 MHz in March 2025), so urban 5G is new and fast. The gaps are in the Tatra Mountains, the Bieszczady and the eastern border belt, where build-out is thinnest. Near the Belarus and Kaliningrad borders a phone can also latch onto a Belarusian or Russian network, according to a user-edited wiki, so travelers there lock the network by hand. Orange and T-Mobile have switched off 3G, so bring a phone with VoLTE (calls over 4G).

A local SIM is cheap but comes with a queue: every prepaid SIM must be registered with a passport, and the online route needs a Polish digital ID that visitors do not have [1]. Kiosks in the arrivals hall at Warsaw Chopin sell and register SIMs, by travelers' accounts, but we could not confirm current prices. A travel eSIM skips all that, which is why most of this article is about which one to pick: we compared 70 traveler reports from Poland, our hands-on tests of 14 providers, and each provider's own network statements.

Best eSIM Providers for Poland

eSIM plans in Poland at a glance

How well each provider's eSIM works in Poland

The Vefru score is our overall rating of the provider. The percentage shows how many reviewers said their eSIM worked well in Poland. Since unhappy customers review more often, it is best used to compare providers with each other.

How we got these numbers: we read 70 public customer reviews that mention Poland or a place in it, published between December 2024 and August 2026, and counted a report as "worked" when the reviewer said the eSIM connected, even with small hiccups. We treat 20 or more reports as strong evidence, 3 to 19 as limited, and fewer than 3 as too few to judge. A count like 9 of 9 means the eSIM worked well for 9 of the 9 travelers who reported from here; each provider section says what went wrong for the rest. The Vefru test score is a separate number: our own hands-on test of the provider, run outside Poland, so it says how the provider behaves, not how the network performs here. Local operator prices in the text were checked on 26 September 2026; provider ratings, the plan tables and the price-per-GB chart are live and update on their own.

Ubigi is the travel eSIM brand of Paris operator Transatel, with one reusable eSIM for 200+ destinations. Data was fast in our test, and its 3 GB, 10 GB and 30-day unlimited plans are cheap. Its weak point is support: a chatbot that ends in an email ticket, with no live agent.

Ubigi eSIM in our hands

Ubigi testing preview Ubigi testing speed 1 Ubigi testing speed 2 Ubigi testing support

Based on the reports, Ubigi is the best option for most trips to Poland: every traveler who reported from here said it worked, and it runs on the two networks that lead on coverage and reliability. It worked well for 9 of 9 travelers who reported from Poland (100%, limited evidence). The successes describe fast data in Warsaw, an easy installation and a low price, often on trips that also took in Germany, Italy or Denmark. One traveler wrote on 24 Jul 2026, after Warsaw and Copenhagen: "Installation was easy, internet speeds were fast, and the cost was low".

No report counted as a failure, but two one-star reviews in our set complain about stability rather than a dead connection: frequent disconnections while a signal was shown (Apr 2026) and poor connection quality in the UK and Poland (Aug 2026). Ubigi has more than one partner network in Poland, so a manual switch to the other one is the usual fix; our guide to switching networks on a multi-network eSIM shows how. Two more things travelers flagged: the status bar shows "Ubigi" instead of the local network name, and a Poland-only plan does not work in Italy. A trip that also covers Italy or the UK needs the Europe plan instead.

What sets Ubigi apart is the network pair and an honest fair-use rule. Its own plan pages name Orange and Play for Poland and state that the unlimited plan runs 20 GB at full speed before it slows (checked 26 Sep 2026). In our comparison tool it sells Poland plans of 3 GB for 30 days, 10 GB for 7 or 30 days, 25 GB for 30 days and unlimited for 7, 15 or 30 days, plus Europe, Europe Extended and World plans; there is no 5 GB or 20 GB size. Its price sits just below the market average overall and is lowest at 3 and 10 GB. The drawback is everything around the data: in our hands-on test the help desk never answered our ticket within 24 hours, the app is a wrapped website and the checkout is clunky, though the eSIM installed from the emailed QR code, worked at once with no throttling, and let us buy more data with a zero balance (our Ubigi test). It suits travelers who can set up an eSIM without help. Ubigi plans for Poland are on its site.

Holafly is an Irish eSIM provider built around unlimited data, with trip eSIMs for 200+ destinations. Travelers report it working more often than any other provider we track. Its weak points are speed and price: our test ran at about 30 Mbps on 5G, and its unlimited plans cost more than most.

Holafly eSIM in our hands

Holafly testing outdoor Holafly testing support Holafly testing support 2 Holafly testing speed

Holafly is the choice for travelers who want unlimited data and three networks to fall back on, with one caveat: in our hands-on test its speed was capped from the start, before any data was used. It worked well for 4 of 4 travelers who reported from Poland (100%, limited evidence), with Warsaw and Katowice among the places named. The cap means enough speed for maps, messaging, browsing and streaming, but slow large downloads, uploads, cloud backups and laptop work.

No report from Poland counted as a miss. The four reports give places but little else, and Holafly's Poland reviews are not among the full texts in our set, so we cannot say what kind of trips they covered. Holafly's own page says its eSIM may be weaker or less stable in the Tatra Mountains, Białowieża Forest, the Bieszczady and the Masurian Lake District [10], so the three-network record is a city and town record for now.

Holafly's page lists Plus, Orange and Play as its Polish networks, sells unlimited data only, from 1 to 90 days, caps the hotspot at 1 GB a day and sells no top-ups; a second eSIM is the only way to extend (as of 26 Sep 2026) [10]. Our comparison tool had no Holafly plan for Poland at export time, so there is no plan table in this section. On price, Holafly is among the most expensive unlimited plans in our comparison. Installation was one tap in our test, and the help desk reached a human quickly after a bot (our Holafly test). After the plan ends, the eSIM keeps a free 1 GB a month while it stays installed (Always On). Holafly's Poland eSIM is sold by the day.

GigSky eSIM in our hands

GigSky testing outdoor GigSky testing speed 1 GigSky testing speed 2 GigSky testing support

GigSky suits travelers who want a human on the help desk and a way to buy more data after the plan runs out, and who accept paying for it. It worked well for 3 of 3 travelers who reported from Poland (100%, limited evidence), one of them from Gdansk. Three reports are the minimum we need to count a provider, so this record is thin.

No miss is counted, and the GigSky review texts for Poland are not among the full texts in our set. Our hands-on test found the weak spots: speeds felt unstable, you must install the app to buy, there is no Google Pay, and the app is a wrapped website. The strong spots are real too: a human answered at once in our test, and the app stays partly online when data runs out, so you can buy a new plan without Wi-Fi, which only Ubigi matched (our GigSky test). GigSky's Poland page could not be read without JavaScript when we checked in September 2026, so its network here is unknown.

In our comparison tool GigSky sells Poland plans of 1 GB for 7 days, 3 GB for 15 days, 5 and 10 GB for 30 days, 20 GB for 90 days and 50 GB for 180 days, a 1-day unlimited pass, and Europe and cruise plans. Price is the sticking point: GigSky is the most expensive provider in our comparison overall, closer to the market average in the big European markets and cheapest on its 1-day passes. The eSIM starts on first connection and cannot be paused, so it stays switched off until you land. GigSky's Poland plans are bought in its app.

Maya Mobile eSIM in our hands

Maya Mobile testing preview Maya Mobile testing speed 1 Maya Mobile testing speed 2 Maya Mobile testing support

Maya Mobile is the pick for a week or more of unlimited data, above all when Poland is one stop of several, because its only product is a global unlimited plan and it is the cheapest global unlimited plan in our comparison by a wide margin. It worked well for 15 of 17 travelers who reported from Poland (88%, limited evidence), the most reports of any provider here.

Two reports counted as misses. Maya's Poland reviews are not among the full texts in our set, so we cannot say where they were or what failed; the count is all we have. Maya no longer sells a Poland-specific plan [14], and its page names no network, only the strongest local network in every country (checked September 2026).

The plan is one global unlimited eSIM for 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, with a Global + Cruise version; our comparison tool lists 5 GB a day at full speed before the speed drops, with a daily reset, which was the fairest unlimited rule we tested. Installation took one click in our test, but you set the APN "globaldata" and data roaming yourself; the help desk is a WhatsApp bot that hands to a human after a form, about nine minutes in our test (our Maya Mobile test). It is poor value for a one- or two-day trip, since nothing shorter than 3 days is sold. Maya Mobile's global plan covers Poland.

Nomad eSIM in our hands

Nomad testing preview Nomad testing speed 1 Nomad testing speed 2 Nomad testing support

Nomad suits experienced users who want a tidy app and a wide choice of plan sizes and will not need the help desk. It worked well for 12 of 15 travelers who reported from Poland (80%, limited evidence); the places named include Zakopane in the Tatras, where its one report worked.

Three reports counted as misses, and one of them is placed: a traveler at Warsaw Chopin Airport reported it did not work there. The other two give no place in our data, and Nomad's full review texts for Poland are not in our set. The finding against Nomad comes from our test: the help bot looped on an APN question, timed out and had no route to a human, which is why it sits below GigSky despite more reports (our Nomad test).

Nomad's page names Plus, Orange and Play in its text but only Plus and Orange in its network field (as of 26 Sep 2026) [11]; our comparison tool lists Plus. Poland plans run from 1 GB for 3 or 7 days to 50 GB for 30 days, with unlimited for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days at 2 GB a day before it slows; the tool lists a 30-day activation window and add-on data. Europe and Global plans cover Poland too, and new users get a free 1 GB trial. Price is just below the market average overall but dearer in Europe than in the Americas. The app has a home-screen widget for remaining data, which no other provider we tested has. Nomad's plans are sold in its app.

eSIM4Travel is the lowest-price option for Poland in our comparison and had the best help desk in our hands-on test, but only 1 traveler has reported from Poland so far, and that report was positive. With evidence that thin, this pick rests on price and our test, not on a Poland record.

Its own page names Plus as its Polish network, with Poland plans from 500 MB for 1 day to 50 GB for 30 days and unlimited from 3 to 30 days at 3 GB a day before it slows; plans must be activated within 90 days of purchase (as of 26 Sep 2026) [13]. Plus is the trade-off: it came last in Opensignal's early-2026 measurements and had not yet built its C-band 5G when those were taken, so expect 4G-class speeds away from the newest sites. Best Europe 41 and Global 72 plans are sold too.

In our test the eSIM installed from a QR code and worked right away, with no throttling; the bot handed us to a human in one click, who solved the problem and suggested a network switch. There is no app, no Google Pay and no way to top up without Wi-Fi once the data is gone; everything is bought on the website and sent by email (our eSIM4Travel test). It suits anyone who installs at home and wants the lowest price for 1 to 20 GB. eSIM4Travel's Poland plans are on its site.

Global YO is the budget option with a thinner record: it worked well for 4 of 5 travelers who reported from Poland (80%, limited evidence). The one miss is not placed or described in our data. Its own page lists P4 (Play) as its network, 4G/LTE only with no 5G, and no ID required (checked 26 Sep 2026), which makes it the only provider in this set that rules out 5G in Poland.

Poland plans in our comparison tool run from 1 GB for 3 days to 100 GB for 60 days, plus day plans whose daily allowance the tool and the page state differently (1 GB or 3 GB a day), so check before buying; Europe Explorer and Global Explorer plans cover Poland too. It is the second-cheapest provider in our comparison, especially from 10 GB up. The downsides from our test: the eSIM can only be bought in the app, you switch mobile data to it by hand, and the help desk took ten minutes for a template reply and over thirty for the follow-up (our Global YO test). A deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled. Global YO's Poland plans are in its app.

Yesim worked well for 4 of 5 travelers who reported from Poland (80%, limited evidence); the miss is not placed or described in our data. Poland plans in our comparison tool run from 500 MB to 30 GB, plus unlimited sold by the day for 1 to 30 days with a fair-use limit it does not publish; Europe and Global bundles cover Poland too. Price is at the market average for unlimited and above it for fixed plans. Two test findings keep it out of the top group: our plan started at purchase rather than at first use, so buy close to the trip or use the activate-later option, and the help desk took 15 to 60 minutes per reply, among the slowest we tested (our Yesim test). Airalo eSIM in our hands

Airalo testing outdoor Airalo testing speed 1 Airalo testing speed 2 Airalo testing support

Airalo, the biggest name, has the weakest record of the providers with 3 or more reports here: it worked well for 5 of 7 travelers who reported from Poland (71%, limited evidence). The two misses are not placed or described in our data. Across all the countries we track, Airalo has the lowest share of working reports of the 14 providers.

Its Poland page names P4 (Play) as the primary network (checked 26 Sep 2026) [9]; third-party guides from 2024 to 2026 still describe its Poland plan as Plus and 4G-only, so the partner appears to have switched. In our comparison tool its Lekko plans run from 1 GB to 50 GB for 3 to 30 days, with unlimited at 3 GB a day before it slows; Eurolink, EUconnect and Discover regional plans cover Poland, and Discover+ adds calls and texts with a US number. A passport scan at purchase (eKYC, a quick identity check) is reported by a third-party guide from August 2026 and not stated on Airalo's page. Price is at the market average. Our test found the easiest purchase and installation of the group, but the help desk queued us behind a bot (our Airalo test). It suits beginners and anyone who needs calls. Airalo's Poland plans are on its site.

GoMoWorld eSIM in our hands

GoMoWorld testing preview GoMoWorld testing speed 1 GoMoWorld testing speed 2 GoMoWorld testing support

GoMoWorld worked well for 2 of 2 travelers who reported from Poland, too few to judge. Both were positive: one wrote on 25 Jul 2026 that "Connection in Poland is very good" but wished the app had said earlier which network to pick by hand if the automatic connection failed. Its page names no network, only top Polish networks (checked September 2026).

Poland plans in our comparison tool are 4 GB for 7 days and 40, 75 or 500 GB for 30 days, plus Europe plans from 2.5 to 35 GB; no unlimited and no calls. Price is just below the market average and best from 5 GB up. In our test it was the fastest provider with no throttling, but the eSIM is app-only (never emailed, one account per device), you must press Start or nothing happens, and humans answer only in office hours (our GoMoWorld test). It suits heavy data use in Europe for anyone who installs at home. GoMoWorld's plans are in its app.

Saily is the travel eSIM from the company behind NordVPN, with plans for about 200 destinations. It has the smoothest install we have tested, a polished app and a built-in VPN. But prices run above the market in most big European destinations, and traveler reports sit below average.

Saily is the odd one out: it did not work for either of the 2 travelers who reported from Poland (0 of 2), too few to judge, and the texts behind those two reports are not in our set, so we cannot say what failed. Its Poland page names no network, only the best networks in Poland, and its coverage widget did not load when we checked (26 Sep 2026).

Poland plans in our comparison tool are 1 GB for 7 days, 3 to 20 GB for 30 days and unlimited for 15 days at 5 GB a day before it slows; Europe and Global plans cover Poland too. Saily had the best app, the smoothest installation and, with eSIM4Travel, the best help desk in our hands-on test, which is why a first-time eSIM user might still pick it despite the record here, but it is among the most expensive providers in our comparison in the places people travel (our Saily test). The plan starts on first connection and auto-starts after 180 days. Saily's Poland plans are sold in its app.

There are no traveler reports from Poland for Roamless yet. Its Poland page lists Orange, Play and Plus, each as 4G/5G, with no speed limit and unlimited hotspot (as of 26 Sep 2026) [12]; our comparison tool lists Orange. Across all the countries we track it has the third-best record of the 14 providers, so the gap here is about how many people bought it, not failures.

The product is one global eSIM with pay-as-you-go credit that does not expire, plus 30-day Poland plans from 1 GB to 200 GB and a free trial for new users. Price is at the market average in popular destinations, cheap for 1 GB and dear from 10 GB up. In our test the preselected APN did not work until we picked another one, and Google Pay failed at checkout, but a human fixed our issue within half an hour (our Roamless test). It suits frequent multi-country travelers with light data needs. Roamless's Poland plans are on its site.

ByteSIM eSIM in our hands

ByteSIM testing preview ByteSIM testing speed 1 ByteSIM testing speed 2 ByteSIM testing support

There are no traveler reports from Poland for ByteSIM yet, and its network here is unresolved: its Poland page named Plus and Play when opened on 3 Sep 2026, a search listing of the same page on 26 Sep 2026 said T-Mobile and Orange, and the page could not be re-read, so we treat the network as unknown.

Our comparison tool lists daily plans of 500 MB to 3 GB a day, fixed plans of 3 to 50 GB and unlimited, each for 1 to 30 days; longer validity costs more, and the daily plans slow to a crawl after the day's quota. No ID is required and no top-ups are sold. Price is at the market average, cheaper for short trips. In our test the checkout demanded a phone number and full postal address, the app install failed, and the WhatsApp help desk did not answer within 15 minutes (our ByteSIM test). There are no traveler reports from Poland for Jetpac yet. Its Poland page names no network, saying only that it connects to the strongest available one (checked 26 Sep 2026); its Europe plan in our comparison tool lists Plus and P4 for Poland. A 2024 third-party report naming Plus is stale and we do not use it.

Poland plans in our comparison tool run from 1 GB to 40 GB and unlimited for 3 to 30 days, listed as 5G-capable, at 3 GB a day before it slows; Europe and Global plans cover Poland too. Extras set it apart: in-app voice packs, free WhatsApp, Maps, Uber and Grab after the data runs out on packs of 3 GB and up, unlimited hotspot, and free lounge access when a flight is delayed by more than an hour. Price is above the market average for 3 to 20 GB. Our test found a slow site with pop-ups, a rough app and data that dropped until the physical SIM was switched off (our Jetpac test). It suits frequent flyers who want calls and a hotspot. Jetpac's plans are on its site.

Best eSIM Plans for Poland

Price per GB in Poland by eSIM Provider

How much does each provider charge per GB in Poland? The chart below compares plans of 1 to 10 GB that last 6 to 14 days, the usual range for a one- or two-week trip. Provider websites show only their own plans, so this side-by-side view is one you would otherwise have to calculate yourself. A shorter bar means a lower price per GB.

Generated 26.10.2026 14:25

The five tables below group the live plans by data size. Two things to keep in mind while you compare: a provider's network matters as much as its price in Poland (the networks section explains why Plus-only plans are cheap), and the unlimited plans differ mainly in their daily allowance, from 2 GB a day at Nomad to 5 GB a day at Maya Mobile and Saily, with Holafly capped from the start. If you need help picking a size, our guide to how much data a trip uses and the travel data calculator give a figure for your own habits. A trip that pairs Poland with Germany, the most common land border crossing, is cheaper on one plan: compare plans that cover both Poland and Germany.

Best eSIM for Warsaw, Gdansk and the Tatra Mountains

City-level evidence for Poland is thin: no place has 3 or more reports, so the country pick, Ubigi, applies everywhere, and Ubigi does have one city report, from Warsaw. The table lists every place the reports name.

Where you are goingWhat the reports showOur pick
Warsawtoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Warsaw Chopin Airporttoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Gdansktoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Katowicetoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Zakopanetoo few reportsCountry pick applies

What the few placed reports say: Ubigi and Holafly each worked for the one traveler who reported from Warsaw, Holafly for one in Katowice, GigSky for one in Gdansk, and Nomad for one in Zakopane. The only placed miss in our data is a Nomad report from Warsaw Chopin Airport, with no cause given, so a traveler landing there with Nomad should have the troubleshooting steps below to hand. For the Tatra Mountains, the Bieszczady, Białowieża and the Masurian lakes there are no reports yet; Holafly's own page lists all four as areas where its eSIM may be weaker [10], and the eastern border belt has the thinnest build-out of all four operators. Play's own coverage map is the one to check before heading there [6], since Play is named by Airalo, Global YO, Ubigi, Roamless and Holafly as one of their Polish networks. One sentence for Warsaw itself: the cross-city rail tunnel (Tunel Średnicowy) was a known dead zone for years until Play fixed it in the first half of 2026, so an older guide that warns about it is out of date.

Local SIM Cards and Operator eSIMs in Poland

A Polish prepaid SIM is far cheaper than any travel eSIM and includes calls and a Polish number, but every one must be registered with a passport in person, and the online eSIM routes need a Polish digital ID or bank login that visitors do not have [1]. So the rule of thumb: a local SIM wins on a stay beyond a week or when you need a local number; a travel eSIM wins on a short trip and for anyone who wants to skip the queue and the risk of a declined foreign card.

Orange is the easiest to price because its own prepaid page shows the figures (as of September 2026) [8]: a starter, physical or eSIM, costs 5.00 zł with 5.00 zł credited back, 6 GB and a year of account validity; an English-language starter costs 15.00 zł for the first month and 45.00 zł after, with unlimited calls, SMS and 75 GB; the headline "Bez limitu" deal is 0.00 zł for the first month and 35.00 zł per 30 days after, with unlimited domestic and EU calls and a large promo data allowance (valid to 28 Feb 2027); data-only packs run from 1.00 zł for 1 GB and 1 day to 100.00 zł for 100 GB and 100 days. Polish prices are quoted gross, so the listed starter price is what you pay. Orange has sold prepaid eSIM starters online since 1 Jun 2026, but with Polish identity verification only.

For the other three we have only reported prices, so treat them as a guide: T-Mobile's GO! XL pack at 50.00 zł per 30 days with 200 GB, 20.00 zł for the first 30 days when bought online (Polish tech press, March 2026), and Play's M tier at 35.00 zł for 40 GB with unlimited calls (a provider blog, 2026). Lyca Mobile, an MVNO on Plus, is reported to accept foreign cards and a passport number with a hotel address at top-up, which would make it the most visitor-friendly option, but we could not confirm it. Plus is reported to charge an inactivity fee of 5.00 zł every 31 days, unconfirmed, so a Plus balance is best run down before you leave.

Registration: a passport or residence permit for non-EU visitors, a national ID card for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens, no photocopies, minimum age 13, done free at the point of sale, with service starting once the operator confirms the data [1]. Starters sell at operator stores, Żabka and Kolporter (both carry all four networks), Ruch kiosks and post offices. Once registered, Orange, Play and T-Mobile all convert a physical SIM to an eSIM free of charge in their apps. At Warsaw Chopin, newsagent kiosks in the public arrivals area (Relay, Inmedio, Ruch, Kolporter) sell and register SIMs by travelers' accounts, with a limited choice and no current price list we could find; staff may not help with registration. Foreign credit and debit cards are frequently declined on operator top-up pages, travelers report, which is the strongest practical argument for a travel eSIM on a short stay.

Mobile Networks in Poland

Poland has four operators and, for a visitor in 2026, a clear order: T-Mobile for measured speed, Play for coverage, Orange for stability, and Plus last. In Opensignal's measurements from January to March 2026, T-Mobile won the most awards, with the highest download speeds and 5G availability, but came last on coverage experience; Play had the best coverage experience and time on network; Orange led on consistency and reliability; Plus finished fourth on almost every metric, with 5G availability a fraction of the other three because it had not yet built its C-band 5G when the data was collected. SpeedTest.pl's 2025 annual report agrees on the speed order: T-Mobile, Orange, Play.

The reasons are physical. Orange reports 5G reaching almost 89% of the population at the end of June 2026 and the deepest 700 MHz build of the four, the low band that carries a signal into valleys and stone buildings [3]. Plus reports 5G for about 75% of the population and 36% of the national area, the only operator that publishes an area figure [4]. Play holds the largest number of radio permit sites in the regulator's register, according to an independent rendering of that register, more than Orange and T-Mobile combined, which is what its coverage lead rests on. Orange and T-Mobile share antennas through a joint venture, so T-Mobile's reach depends on that pairing. Since 1 Jan 2026 Play no longer roams onto Orange where its own signal is weak, according to three Polish tech news reports; its customers, and any eSIM on P4, no longer have that fallback.

Which provider rides which network: Ubigi, Holafly, Roamless and Nomad name Orange and Play on their own pages (Holafly, Roamless and Nomad add Plus); Airalo and Global YO name P4 (Play); eSIM4Travel names Plus alone [13]; Maya Mobile, Saily, Yesim, GoMoWorld, Jetpac and GigSky name no network on their Poland pages; ByteSIM's sources conflict. No travel eSIM in this article could be confirmed on T-Mobile, so the fastest measured network is reachable only with a local SIM. The regulator's 5G licence terms oblige operators to reach 99% of households, 95% of main roads and rail lines and 90% of national territory at a minimum speed by the end of the decade [2], which means a tenth of the country is not contractually required to have usable 5G until after 2030: the eastern border belt (Podlasie, Bieszczady) is where that shows.

3G is going or gone: Orange switched it off in November 2025 and T-Mobile in April 2023; Play's date is in conflict between sources (end of 2025 or 2027); Plus still runs it with no announced date. A phone without VoLTE may be unable to make calls on a local SIM. Before a trip into the mountains or the east, the operators' own maps are the best check: Orange [5], Play [6] and T-Mobile [7] all publish one; Plus has a map on its site but we could not confirm a stable address for it. Our explainer on whether 5G is worth paying for helps if a 4G-only plan like Global YO's is on your shortlist.

How to Set Up an eSIM for Poland

Install at home on Wi-Fi, before you fly. With almost every provider here the plan starts on first connection in Poland, not at installation, so there is nothing to lose and a working connection the moment you land. The exceptions are in step 2.

  1. Check that your phone is unlocked and takes an eSIM; our list of phones that take an eSIM covers current models. A phone with VoLTE matters more in Poland than elsewhere because two of the four operators have switched off 3G.
  2. Buy at the right moment. Yesim's plan started at purchase in our test, so buy it close to the trip or use its activate-later option. GoMoWorld needs you to press Start (or schedule it) or nothing happens. Activation windows differ: eSIM4Travel wants the plan activated within 90 days of purchase, Nomad's Poland plans list 30 days in our comparison tool, Ubigi's unscanned QR stays valid for 6 months, and Saily auto-starts after 180 days.
  3. Install the eSIM. Saily, GoMoWorld, GigSky, Roamless and Global YO install from their apps; eSIM4Travel, Airalo, Maya Mobile, Ubigi, Yesim, ByteSIM, Jetpac, Nomad and Holafly send a QR code by email. Our guides for adding an eSIM on an iPhone and adding an eSIM on a Samsung walk through the screens.
  4. Set the line up: switch data roaming on for the eSIM, make it the mobile-data line, and set the APN where the provider asks (Maya Mobile and Global YO use "globaldata", Ubigi "mobiledata", GigSky "gigsky"). Keep the eSIM switched off until you land with GigSky, since it starts on first connection and cannot be paused.
  5. On arrival, if there is no data within a minute, pick the network by hand in the phone's settings rather than leaving it on automatic; a GoMoWorld traveler and two Ubigi travelers found this was the fix in Poland. Near the Belarus or Kaliningrad border, lock the network so the phone does not latch onto a non-EU operator. If it still fails, our eSIM troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.

Calls and SMS in Poland

Poland's calling code is +48, and no travel eSIM in this article gives you a Polish number. Almost all of them are data-only, so calls and texts go over WhatsApp, Signal, FaceTime or a similar app, which works on any of the plans above. The exceptions in our comparison tool are Airalo's Discover+ regional plans, which include calls and texts with a US number and cover Poland, and the voice extras of a few providers: Jetpac sells in-app voice packs, Roamless has in-app calling and an optional second number (US, Canada, UK or Australia), Global YO has outgoing app calls, and Saily sells a US number add-on. Holafly's subscription, Saily's Ultra tier and Yesim's virtual numbers let you receive SMS codes, which matters for banking apps.

If you need a Polish number, for example for a landlord, a clinic or a bank, the only route is a local prepaid SIM with passport registration, described above: Orange's English-language starter includes unlimited calls and SMS, and Play's M tier is reported to as well. Convert it to an eSIM in the operator's app afterwards if you want to keep your own SIM slot free.

Free eSIM Data for Poland

Five providers in this article give away a little data that works in Poland, enough to test your phone before you pay. Roamless has a free Poland trial plan for new users in our comparison tool (700 MB, valid 30 days from activation, no throttling); Nomad flags its 1 GB Poland plan as a trial for new users; GoMoWorld has a free 1-day trial; GigSky has a free 100 MB trial, and we confirmed a free trial eSIM for Poland exists on its page; Jetpac's Eterna eSIM comes with 100 MB. Holafly adds a free 1 GB a month after a plan ends as long as the eSIM stays installed. None of these replaces a plan for a trip; our round-up of free eSIM data and trials lists the current terms of each.

Frequently Asked Questions About eSIMs in Poland

Which eSIM works best in Poland?
Ubigi had the best record in traveler reports from Poland: it worked well for 9 of 9, with travelers describing fast data in Warsaw, and it runs on Orange and Play, the networks that lead on reliability and coverage. Its weak point is the help desk, which never answered us. Holafly also worked for all 4 who reported, but its speed was capped from the start in our test. Compare both with (eSIM Comparison).
What is the cheapest eSIM for Poland?
eSIM4Travel is usually the cheapest provider in our comparison, with Global YO close behind and Ubigi low at 3 and 10 GB. The cheap pair has a catch: eSIM4Travel runs on Plus, the weakest measured network, and Global YO is 4G only. The live plan tables above and (eSIM Comparison) show current prices per size.
How much data do I need for Poland?
For a week of maps, messaging and browsing, the smallest plans sold here (1 to 5 GB) usually do; streaming, video calls or hotspot work push you to 10 GB or more, or to an unlimited plan with a daily allowance of 2 to 5 GB. A figure for your own habits comes from (Travel Data Calculator).
Can I buy a Poland SIM card for tourists at Warsaw airport?
Yes, by travelers' accounts: newsagent kiosks in the arrivals area at Warsaw Chopin sell and register prepaid SIMs, but the choice is limited, staff may not help with registration, and we could not confirm current prices. You need your passport, since every Polish prepaid SIM must be registered in person. A travel eSIM installed at home avoids the kiosk entirely.
Does an eSIM work in Zakopane and the Tatra Mountains?
In the town, yes: the one traveler who reported from Zakopane used Nomad and it worked. On the trails the evidence runs out. Holafly's own page names the Tatra Mountains as an area where its eSIM may be weaker, and the eastern mountains have the thinnest build-out. An eSIM on Orange or Play, which lead on coverage, is the safer bet there.
Which mobile network is best in Poland for an eSIM?
Play for coverage and Orange for stability, according to Opensignal's early-2026 measurements; T-Mobile was fastest but no travel eSIM in our comparison could be confirmed on it, and Plus came last on almost every count. Ubigi, Holafly, Roamless and Nomad name Orange and Play on their pages; eSIM4Travel names Plus alone. The networks section above has the details.
Do I need to show my passport for a Poland eSIM?
Not for most travel eSIMs: Global YO and eSIM4Travel state no ID is required, and the rest in our comparison asked for none in our tests. Airalo is the exception, with a passport scan at purchase reported by a third-party guide from August 2026. A local Polish prepaid SIM always needs a passport or EU ID, registered in person.

Summary: the best eSIM for Poland

Based on 70 traveler reports from Poland and our hands-on tests, Ubigi is the best option for most trips: it worked well for 9 of 9 travelers who reported from here and runs on Orange and Play, with its help desk as the one weak point. Holafly worked for all 4 who reported and connects to three networks, the choice for unlimited data if you accept that its speed was capped from the start in our test, a 1 GB-a-day hotspot and no top-ups. GigSky (3 of 3) is the pick for a human help desk and top-ups without Wi-Fi, at the highest price position in our comparison.

Maya Mobile (15 of 17) is the unlimited choice for a week or more across several countries; its two misses are not described in our data. Nomad (12 of 15) suits experienced users who will not need help, with one placed miss at Warsaw Chopin Airport. eSIM4Travel is the cheapest in our comparison with the best help desk in our test, but it has only 1 report from Poland, no app, and runs on Plus, the weakest measured network. For most trips in 2026, the best eSIM for Poland is the one installed at home and running on Orange or Play, which the picks above sort by evidence.
