Key takeaways
Kuwait has only 5 traveler reports in our set, so no provider has a proven record here yet. Airalo has the most reports but worked well for just 1 of 3 travelers, so it is the first pick only because it is the one provider with enough reports to count, and because its Kuwait plans name Zain, the operator that leads Kuwait's independent network tests. eSIM4Travel has no reports from Kuwait yet, but it is the cheapest in our comparison, its help desk was the best we tested, and it sells Kuwait plans on two different networks; its drawbacks are no app and no top-up without Wi-Fi.
- Most reports, unlimited option Airalo 33% worked well in Kuwait 1 of 3 reviewers 7.5 our score
- Lowest price, human help desk eSIM4Travel No traveler reports yet 8.8 our score

The best eSIM for Kuwait is hard to call from traveler reports alone: our set holds only 5 reports from Kuwait, and the one provider with 3 of them worked well for just one traveler. So this guide leans harder than usual on two other things, our own hands-on tests of all 14 providers and the regulator's own network data. The good news is that the network side of the choice matters less in Kuwait than almost anywhere. The country is small enough that the regulator's 2025 drive test covered every urban area, rural area and highway in 14,852 km, and all three operators scored well on it [1].
Two things about Kuwait do change the eSIM decision. First, the coverage gap is indoors, not in the desert: the regulator's own whitepaper puts 5G-Advanced indoor coverage at 0%, with all of its roughly 3,000 sites outdoors, and names the airport and the big malls as the first places that will get indoor systems [2]. Second, 3G was switched off on 1 Jun 2025, so a travel eSIM needs a 4G or 5G phone [3]. No Kuwaiti operator sells an eSIM to visitors without a passport visit, so a travel eSIM is the only way to land connected.
Travel itself is the bigger caveat in 2026. The US State Department holds Kuwait at a Level 3 travel advisory, updated 28 Aug 2026, citing armed conflict since hostilities between the US and Iran began on 28 Feb 2026 and seriously disrupted aviation [4]. Press reports say Kuwait International Airport was struck by drones from 28 Feb 2026 and reopened for selected routes on 23 Apr 2026. Two eSIM comparison sites reported in March 2026 that Kuwait ordered travel eSIM providers to stop selling and disconnected active profiles. We could not confirm that from the regulator or the Kuwaiti press, and on 25 Sep 2026 Airalo, Nomad and others were selling Kuwait plans live [5]. If it happened, it looks like a wartime measure that had lapsed by September 2026; we cannot say more than that.

How well each provider's eSIM works in Kuwait
The Vefru score is our overall rating of the provider. The percentage shows how many reviewers said their eSIM worked well in Kuwait. Since unhappy customers review more often, it is best used to compare providers with each other.

How we got these numbers: we read 5 public customer reviews that mention Kuwait or a place in it, the newest of them published in July 2025, and counted a report as "worked" when the reviewer said the eSIM connected, even with small hiccups. We treat 20 or more reports as strong evidence, 3 to 19 as limited, and fewer than 3 as too few to judge. A count like 1 of 3 means the eSIM worked well for 1 of the 3 travelers who reported from here; each provider section says what went wrong for the rest. The Vefru test score is a separate number: our own hands-on test of the provider, run outside Kuwait, so it says how the provider behaves, not how the network performs here. Local operator prices in the text were checked on 25 Sep 2026; provider ratings, the plan tables and the price-per-GB chart are live and update on their own.
| Provider | Vefru test score | Worked in Kuwait (reports) | Best for | Network in Kuwait | Speed cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airalo | 7.5 | 1 of 3 (limited) | Most reports, unlimited option | Zain plus one unnamed network [5] | Unlimited: 3 GB/day, then slowed |

We chose the Best group on traveler reports in Kuwait first, price position second and our hands-on tests third; only Airalo reaches the 3 reports a provider needs to be ranked on its record, and eSIM4Travel joins it on price and our test results, so this country page has two picks instead of the usual five.

Airalo eSIM in our hands
Airalo is the pick for travelers who want the biggest eSIM brand and a Kuwait plan that names its network, but its record here is weak: it worked well for 1 of 3 travelers who reported from Kuwait (33%), which counts as limited evidence. That is the only provider with 3 reports from Kuwait, and the one success says nothing about where in Kuwait it was used. Across all countries, Airalo had the lowest share of working reports of the 14 providers we track, so a thin Kuwait record fits a wider pattern rather than a local one-off.
We could not read the two failure reports in enough detail to say what went wrong, so we cannot tell you whether the problem was signal, setup or the plan. What we can say is that Airalo's Kuwait page was live and selling on 25 Sep 2026 and names Zain plus one unnamed second network [5]. Zain is the operator that won the most awards in Opensignal's February 2026 report, according to that report, so the network is not the obvious weak spot.
Airalo sells its Kuwait plans under the "Liberation Mobile" label: 1 GB for 3 days up to 20 GB for 30 days, plus unlimited plans from 3 to 30 days that slow down after 3 GB a day, with tethering counted against that allowance. Its "Menalink" regional plan covers Kuwait with 12 other Middle East countries, and the Discover and Discover+ global plans cover it too; all of them are data-only in Kuwait. In our test the purchase and install were among the easiest, data worked without touching any settings, the help desk reached a human after a queue, and we saw no throttling on a fixed plan; most packages start on first connection, but some start at install, so check the package page. On price Airalo sits at the market average and is never the cheapest, and its refund after activation is limited to faults on its side. Our Airalo review has the full test; the plans are on Airalo's Kuwait page.

eSIM4Travel eSIM in our hands
eSIM4Travel is the pick for anyone who wants the lowest price in Kuwait and a help desk with a person behind it. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet, so nothing here says how it performs on the ground. What the files do show is that it is the cheapest provider in our comparison across almost every country and plan size, with the highest Vefru test score of the 14 providers, and that in our test one click took us from the bot to a person who solved the problem and suggested a network switch.
The one real question mark is the network. Our comparison tool lists two families of Kuwait plans from eSIM4Travel: one labelled Ooredoo and STC, from 100 MB for a day up to 50 GB for 30 days with unlimited plans from 3 to 30 days, and one labelled Zain, from 1 GB to 20 GB. Its own pages contradict each other on which network the Kuwait eSIM uses, so we could not confirm it; what is sure is that all three Kuwaiti operators scored well in the regulator's 2025 drive test [1]. Its unlimited plans slow down after 3 GB a day, tethering is allowed, validity starts on first connection and the eSIM must be activated within 90 days.
The downsides are practical. There is no app: you buy on the website, get a QR code by email, and once the data runs out you cannot reach the store without Wi-Fi. The card number is typed by hand, with no Google Pay, and the plan works on one device only. Refunds are possible within 2 months if under 10% of the data was used. For a trip where the price matters more than an app, that trade is worth it; our eSIM4Travel review shows the full purchase and install. Plans are on eSIM4Travel's Kuwait page.

Other eSIM Providers for Kuwait
We tested every provider in this group too; they sit here because fewer than 3 travelers have reported from Kuwait with them, or because a finding from our test counts against them. Two of them, GoMoWorld and Yesim, each have one positive report, which is too few to judge.

GoMoWorld eSIM in our hands
GoMoWorld suits heavy data users who are fine with an app-only eSIM. It worked well for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Kuwait, too few to judge, but that one report is detailed: a reviewer who had used it for "more than 2 month in Kuwait without losing data signal" (1 Jul 2025) and found the install and top-up the easiest of the eSIMs he had used. No report says where in Kuwait it was used.
Its Kuwait plans are 3.5 GB for 7 days and 15, 35 or 55 GB for 30 days, listed with 5G and tethering in our comparison tool; the plan does not start until you press Start in the app, which the tool's terms also say. GoMoWorld did not confirm which Kuwaiti network it uses. In our test it was the fastest provider with no throttling, but the eSIM is never emailed, one account serves one device, and human help is only in office hours; the full findings are in our GoMoWorld review. On price it is below the market average and at its best from 5 GB up, so a weekend with 1 GB is poor value. Plans are on GoMoWorld's site.

Yesim eSIM in our hands
Yesim suits experienced users who want unlimited data sold by the day. It worked well for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Kuwait, too few to judge, and we could not read that report in enough detail to say where it was used. Its Kuwait page names Zain with 5G, which puts it on the operator that led the independent tests, though Yesim switches networks on its own.
In our comparison tool Yesim sells Kuwait plans from 500 MB for a day up to 20 GB for 30 days, unlimited plans for 1 and 7 days with a fair-use limit it does not publish, and Middle East and global bundles that also cover Kuwait. Activation can be deferred for up to 365 days, but in our test the plan started at purchase, so buy close to the trip. Support was among the slowest we tested and the app nags with upsells; the details are in our Yesim review. On price its unlimited plans sit at the market average and its fixed plans above it. Plans are on Yesim's Kuwait page.

Global YO eSIM in our hands
Global YO is for a trip that takes in several Gulf countries, not for Kuwait alone. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet, and it sells no Kuwait-only plan: in our comparison tool Kuwait is covered by its Middle East Explorer bundle (12 countries, 1 GB for 3 days up to 100 GB for 60 days, plus day plans at 3 GB a day) and by its Global Explorer bundles. Global YO did not confirm which Kuwaiti network it uses.
It is the second cheapest provider in our comparison, and the gap grows with plan size, so a 10 GB or larger regional plan is where it makes sense. Against that, the purchase is app-only, support took a long time to reply in our test, a deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled and the app dies when the data runs out; see our Global YO review. The bundles are on Global YO's site.

Maya Mobile eSIM in our hands
Maya Mobile is for a week or more of heavy use across several countries. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. It sells one thing: a global unlimited plan for 3, 7, 14 or 30 days that covers Kuwait, with 5 GB a day at full speed before it slows, hotspot included and a cruise variant; there is no Kuwait plan and nothing under 3 days. We could not confirm which Kuwaiti network it uses, and a third-party listing calls its Kuwait service 3G and 4G only, which we could not verify; 3G is switched off in Kuwait in any case [3].
Across all countries Maya had the second-best share of working reports of the 14 providers, and in our test it gave the fairest unlimited plan we have seen, with a daily reset. Its WhatsApp help desk makes you fill a form before a person answers, and the person could not see our eSIM status; our Maya Mobile review has the rest. It is by far the cheapest global unlimited plan in our comparison but poor value for a short trip. Plans are on Maya Mobile's site.

Ubigi eSIM in our hands
Ubigi is not a top pick for Kuwait because its own page says there is no 5G here, and because its help desk never answered in our test. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. Its Kuwait page names stc and Zain as the networks, two of the three operators, but with 4G only, a limit no other major provider states for Kuwait; the page shows a 5G badge next to that table, so the two conflict.
In our comparison tool Ubigi sells Kuwait plans of 1 GB for 7 days, 3 GB for 15 days, 10 GB for 7 or 30 days and unlimited for 7 or 15 days, plus Middle East and World bundles; there is no 5 GB or 20 GB size. The eSIM is reusable, the QR code is valid for 6 months and you can buy more with a zero balance, which few providers allow. In our test the site and app were the weakest we used and a support ticket went unanswered for 24 hours, though speeds showed no throttling; see our Ubigi review. Its fixed plans sit just below the market average, and our price analysis finds it dear in the Gulf. Plans are on Ubigi's site.

Nomad eSIM in our hands
Nomad suits experienced users who will not need the help desk. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. Its Kuwait page, live on 25 Sep 2026, names Zain and stc, and our comparison tool lists its Kuwait plans on Zain. Across all countries Nomad's share of working reports matched the market average.
The Kuwait plans run from 1 GB for 7 days to 50 GB for 30 days, listed as 4G/LTE with 30 days to activate and add-on data; Nomad's page says speeds drop after a daily allocation. Gulf, MENA and global bundles cover Kuwait as well, and a free 1 GB trial is on offer. In our test the app was good, with a home-screen widget showing remaining data, but the support bot looped and had no route to a person; our Nomad review has the full story. On price it sits slightly below the market average. Plans are on Nomad's site.

Roamless eSIM in our hands
Roamless suits light users who visit several countries with one eSIM. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. Its Kuwait page lists the network as "Kuwait Telekom", which is not one of the three licensed operators, so we could not confirm which network it rides. Across all countries it had the third-best share of working reports of the 14 providers.
In our comparison tool it sells Kuwait plans for 30 days from 1 GB to 50 GB, credit plans with no expiry from 1 GB to 200 GB, a free 500 MB Kuwait plan for new users, and Middle East and global plans; the terms promise no throttling and allow tethering. In our test the preset APN did not work until we picked another one, Google Pay failed, and support fixed the problem in under half an hour; see our Roamless review. On price it is among the cheapest for 1 GB and among the dearest from 10 GB up, because credit has no volume discount. Plans are on Roamless's Kuwait page.

ByteSIM eSIM in our hands
ByteSIM is not a top pick for Kuwait because its checkout and app were the clumsiest we tested and its help desk did not reply. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet, and our research could not locate a Kuwait page on its site in September 2026, so it names no network.
Our comparison tool still carries the largest Kuwait catalog of any provider: daily plans from 500 MB to 3 GB a day, fixed plans from 3 GB to 50 GB at validities from 3 to 30 days, and unlimited plans from 1 to 30 days that are throttled without a stated limit; longer validity costs more, and there are no top-ups. In our test the install errors and auto-activation failed, the connection was 4G only, and the WhatsApp help desk did not answer within 15 minutes; our ByteSIM review has the details. On price it is at the market average. Plans are on ByteSIM's site.

Holafly is not a top pick for Kuwait because in our test its speed was capped from the start, before any data was used, and because our comparison tool lists no Holafly plan for Kuwait as of October 2026. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. Holafly's own site had a Kuwait page when we checked in September 2026, selling unlimited data by the day, but two of its pages gave different plan lengths and different hotspot limits, so we could not confirm its Kuwait terms; it does not name a network beyond "the best local network".
What the cap means in practice: enough for maps, messaging, browsing and streaming, slow for large downloads, uploads, cloud backups and laptop work. The hotspot is limited to 1 GB a day and there are no top-ups; you buy a new eSIM instead. Across all countries Holafly had the best share of working reports of the 14 providers, and the install was one tap in our test; our Holafly review has the speed finding. Its unlimited plans sit above the other unlimited providers on price. If a plan reappears, it will be on Holafly's Kuwait page.

Jetpac eSIM in our hands
Jetpac suits frequent flyers who value extras over a polished app. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet, and Jetpac did not name a network on its page when we checked in September 2026. Across all countries its share of working reports was above the market average.
Its Kuwait plans run from 1 GB for 4 days through 3 GB for 7 days to 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 GB for 30 days; a MENA bundle adds unlimited plans from 1 to 30 days at 3 GB per 24 hours before they slow, and many of its unlimited plans are 4G only. The extras are what set it apart: WhatsApp, Maps, Uber and Grab keep working after the data runs out on packs of 3 GB and up, hotspot is unlimited, voice packs can be bought in the app, and a delayed flight unlocks a free lounge. In our test the site was slow and the app rough, and the eSIM comes by email only; see our Jetpac review. On price it is among the dearer providers for 3 to 20 GB. Plans are on Jetpac's site.

Saily is the travel eSIM from the company behind NordVPN, with plans for about 200 destinations. It has the smoothest install we have tested, a polished app and a built-in VPN. But prices run above the market in most big European destinations, and traveler reports sit below average.

Saily eSIM in our hands
Saily suits a first eSIM, where the app and the help desk matter more than the price. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet, and Saily did not name a network on its page when we checked in September 2026. Its Kuwait page sets a 30-day activation window, shorter than most.
The Kuwait plans are 1 GB for 7 days and 3, 5, 10 or 20 GB for 30 days, with a MENA bundle of 1 to 3 GB; its global unlimited plan also covers Kuwait and slows after 30 GB. In our test the app and install were the smoothest of the 14, the help desk tied for the best, and the data cut off hard at the limit with the app offline at zero; the free VPN and ad blocker come with every plan. Our Saily review has the screenshots. On price it is the dearest provider in the places people travel most and is never the cheapest. Plans are on Saily's Kuwait page.

GigSky eSIM in our hands
GigSky is not a top pick for Kuwait because the Kuwait plans in our comparison tool carry a "service disabled in Kuwait" note in their terms, and because GigSky's own site said it had no Kuwait-only plan when we checked in September 2026, only Middle East and World bundles. There are no traveler reports from Kuwait yet. GigSky names no networks anywhere, by policy.
The tool lists 1 GB for 7 days, 3 GB for 15 days and 5 or 10 GB for 30 days; its unlimited passes slow after 2.5 GB a day. Its strength is elsewhere: the app stays partly online when the data runs out, so you can buy more without Wi-Fi, and its help desk answered at once in our test; see our GigSky review. It is the most expensive provider in our comparison overall. Check the current state on GigSky's Kuwait page before buying.

Best eSIM Plans for Kuwait
Price per GB in Kuwait by eSIM Provider
How much does each provider charge per GB in Kuwait? The chart below compares plans of 1 to 10 GB that last 6 to 14 days, the usual range for a one- or two-week trip. Provider websites show only their own plans, so this side-by-side view is one you would otherwise have to calculate yourself. A shorter bar means a lower price per GB.

Twelve of the 14 providers sell a Kuwait-only plan; Global YO covers Kuwait only through its Middle East and global bundles, Maya Mobile only through its global unlimited plan, and Holafly had no plan in our comparison tool as of October 2026. Unlimited plans for Kuwait come from Airalo, eSIM4Travel, Yesim, Ubigi and ByteSIM, with Jetpac's MENA bundle and Maya's global plan as regional options; every one of them slows down after a daily allowance except Yesim and ByteSIM, which do not state theirs. If you are pairing Kuwait with the Emirates, you can compare plans that cover both Kuwait and the UAE in one search, and our UAE eSIM guide and Egypt eSIM guide cover the other two Middle East stops with the most reports.

Best eSIM for Kuwait City, the Airport and Failaka Island
No traveler report from Kuwait names a place, so the country-level pick applies everywhere, including for Airalo, which has no city-level reports. What we can say about places comes from the regulator's own measurements instead.
| Where you are going | What the reports show | Our pick |
|---|---|---|
| Kuwait City | too few reports | Country pick applies |
| Kuwait International Airport (KWI) | too few reports | Country pick applies |
| Failaka Island | too few reports | Country pick applies |
Outdoors, every provider in this article should be fine in Kuwait City and on the highways: the regulator's 2025 drive test found LTE at "good or above" in 96.51% to 99.21% of samples and 5G at "good or above" in 93.87% to 95.67%, depending on the operator, and all three operators scored above 800 of 1,000 points [1]. The weak spots are indoors. The regulator's July 2026 whitepaper puts 5G-Advanced indoor coverage at 0% and says its mid-band signal is severely weakened by concrete; its 2026 indoor-coverage plan names the airport, hospitals and the city core as the first tier and The Avenues, 360 Mall and Marina Mall as the second [2]. So inside a mall or a basement car park, expect 4G rather than 5G, whichever eSIM you carry. No report describes the airport, but the drive test included 8 islands and 80 indoor locations, so Failaka is covered on paper [1]; the one place to be careful is not a coverage matter at all: the State Department warns of unmarked landmines in the desert and on beaches north of Mutla'a Ridge and near the Iraqi border [4]. A third-party blog reports weaker coverage on Highway 80 toward Iraq; we could not verify that.
Local SIM Cards and Operator eSIMs in Kuwait
A local SIM wins in Kuwait only if you need 20 GB or more over a month; for a week with a few gigabytes, a travel eSIM is cheaper and skips the passport queue. The catch is that every figure below comes from third-party guides, because the operators' own pages could not be opened when we researched this on 25 Sep 2026, and two of those guides disagree with each other. Treat the prices as a rough guide and check them in the shop.
All three operators, Zain, Ooredoo and stc, are reported to sell a starter SIM for KD 5.00 with KD 5.00 of credit, as of September 2026. For Zain's "eeZee" SIM, one guide says KD 5.00 buys 30 GB and 100 domestic minutes for 30 days, and another says the same KD 5.00 buys 100 GB and 100 minutes; a second guide also lists the SIM itself from KD 6.00. Ooredoo's "ANA GO" bundle is reported at 30 GB and 100 local minutes for KD 5.00 a month. We could not confirm any of this on the operators' sites. KD 5.00 was a little over $16.00 at the exchange rate we checked on 10 Sep 2026.
A passport is mandatory for a prepaid SIM, registration is reported to take 15 to 30 minutes, and kiosks from all three operators sit in the arrivals hall at Kuwait International; reports on whether the airport charges more than the shops in town conflict. Kuwait has no VAT, which we could not confirm from an official source; Nomad and Yesim state that their Kuwait prices include all taxes. One guide says the cheaper prepaid tiers may exclude 5G. All three operators sell eSIMs, but not self-service to visitors: you get one in a branch or online against the same passport registration, so an operator eSIM is not a way to land connected. The regulator has put "clear rules for data generated by international visitors" on its agenda for late 2026 [2].
Mobile Networks in Kuwait
Kuwait has three operators, Zain, Ooredoo and stc, and the gap between them is narrow: in the regulator's 2025 benchmark all three scored above 800 of 1,000 points, the best 832, and their LTE coverage results sit within 2.7 points of each other [1]. The regulator anonymises the operators in that report. Zain is the one to prefer if you get a choice: according to Opensignal's February 2026 report, it won the overall Best Network award, took the coverage, 5G coverage and consistent-quality awards outright and had the fastest 5G download, while Ooredoo was marginally faster on plain download and best for gaming. Zain itself claims Ookla's 2026 awards for fastest 5G and best coverage; that is its own claim.
Which eSIM rides which network: Airalo names Zain plus one unnamed network on its Kuwait page [5]; Nomad and Ubigi name Zain and stc on theirs, and Yesim names Zain with 5G. eSIM4Travel's pages give three different answers, so we could not confirm its network, and Roamless lists "Kuwait Telekom", which is not a licensed operator. Holafly, Saily, Jetpac and GigSky name none, and GoMoWorld, Global YO, Maya Mobile and ByteSIM could not be verified. Ubigi says its Kuwait service is 4G only. Naming Zain is not a guarantee of Zain: Yesim, GigSky and Roamless switch networks on their own.
5G is the norm outdoors. The regulator reports 100% population coverage for 5G in one part of its July 2026 whitepaper and 97% in another, with 4.12 million 5G subscribers, and it reports that Ookla ranks Kuwait third in the world for mobile speed [2]. 3G was switched off on 1 Jun 2025 under CITRA Decision 2024/278, and 2G remains [3]. For your trip that means two things: any of these eSIMs will be fast on the street, and the place you lose 5G is inside buildings, where the regulator itself measures 5G-Advanced coverage at 0% [2]. Our guide to whether 5G is worth paying for explains the difference 4G makes in practice.
How to Set Up an eSIM for Kuwait
Install the eSIM at home, before you fly: with the airport only partly reopened this year, airport Wi-Fi is not something to count on, and almost every provider here lets you install without starting the plan. The steps are the same for every provider on this page:
- Check that your phone takes an eSIM and is unlocked; iPhones bought in mainland China and Hong Kong mostly lack eSIM. Our list of phones with eSIM support covers the rest.
- Buy the plan and watch the activation window: Saily's Kuwait page gives 30 days to activate, Nomad's Kuwait plans 30 days in our comparison tool, Jetpac 3 months, eSIM4Travel 90 days, Ubigi 6 months and Yesim up to 365 days. Yesim's plan started at purchase in our test, so buy it last.
- Install it: in the app for GoMoWorld, Saily, Roamless, GigSky and Global YO, or from the emailed QR code for the rest. Our guides show the menus on iPhone and on Samsung.
- Turn on data roaming for the eSIM line and, where the provider asks for it, set the APN: Maya Mobile and Global YO use "globaldata", GigSky "gigsky", Ubigi "mobiledata"; Roamless's preset APN failed in our test until we picked another.
- On landing, select the eSIM for mobile data. GoMoWorld plans do nothing until you press Start in the app; some Airalo packages start at install rather than on first connection, so check the package page.
- No data? Jetpac's profile needed the physical SIM switched off before data flowed in our test. Our troubleshooting guide covers the rest.
Calls and SMS in Kuwait
No travel eSIM on this page gives you a Kuwaiti number, and none of the Kuwait plans in our comparison tool includes minutes or texts; Kuwait's calling code is +965. Every provider page we could check sells data only here, so calls to a Kuwaiti restaurant or hotel go over WhatsApp or a similar app, or over an app number that is not Kuwaiti.
The app options: Global YO makes outgoing internet calls from its app, Roamless offers in-app calls and an optional second number from the US, Canada, the UK or Australia, Jetpac sells voice packs in its app (in our test the recipient saw a US number), and Airalo's Discover+ global plan and Saily's add-on give you a US number. If you must be reachable on a local number, a prepaid SIM from Zain, Ooredoo or stc with minutes included is the only route, with the passport registration described in the local SIM section above.
Free eSIM Data for Kuwait
Two providers give away data that works in Kuwait: Nomad offers a free 1 GB trial, listed on its Kuwait page, and Roamless lists a free 500 MB Kuwait plan in our comparison tool for new users, valid for 30 days from activation with tethering allowed. GoMoWorld has a free 1-day trial, Jetpac a free 100 MB eSIM and GigSky a free 100 MB trial, though GigSky's Kuwait service is flagged disabled in the tool, so count only the first two for Kuwait. Our roundup of free eSIM trials lists the terms.

Summary: the best eSIM for Kuwait
Kuwait is a thin-data country for us in 2026: 5 traveler reports in all, no city-level reports, and a security situation that matters more than coverage. On the evidence we have, Airalo is the first pick, as the only provider with 3 reports from Kuwait, a Kuwait plan that names Zain, and plans from 1 GB to 20 GB plus unlimited; its weakness is the record itself, 1 of 3 travelers, and a price at the market average. eSIM4Travel is the pick for price, with no reports from Kuwait yet, the lowest prices in our comparison, two plan families on different networks and a help desk that put a person on the chat in one click; its weakness is the lack of an app and of any top-up without Wi-Fi.
Whichever you choose, the network side is forgiving: all three Kuwaiti operators scored well outdoors in the regulator's own drive test, and the only coverage gap is indoors. Based on the reports and our tests, the best eSIM for Kuwait today is Airalo if you want the known brand and eSIM4Travel if you want the lowest price; we will update both picks as more travelers report from Kuwait.
