Best eSIM for Laos in 2026: 14 Providers Ranked by Traveler Reports

Jan Procházka
Best eSIM Laos
Key Takeaways

Key takeaways

Based on 19 traveler reports from Laos and our tests, the best option here is ByteSIM: it worked well for 6 of 6 travelers who reported from Laos, and its Laos plans are among the cheapest per GB in our comparison. The catch is short validity (5 to 15 days) and a help desk that did not answer in our test. Only one other provider has enough reports to judge, and it worked for 1 of 4 travelers. A local SIM costs far less than any travel eSIM but needs an in-person passport registration.

The best eSIM for Laos is one that lists Laos by name: two reviews in our files come from travelers whose Southeast Asia plans left them without data on arrival. Based on 19 traveler reports, ByteSIM had the best record, and its Laos plans are among the cheapest per GB in our comparison. Every other provider except Nomad has two reports or fewer from Laos, so this guide says where the evidence is thin.

Laos is land-locked and mountainous, and the Ministry of Technology and Communications names that terrain as the barrier to coverage in remote areas. Its 2019 baseline had 3G in 82% of villages and 4G in 55%. Simbye's coverage page says signal holds along the main road and rail line from Vientiane to Luang Prabang and drops in the mountains and on boat routes [16].

Local SIMs are very cheap, but they need a passport registration with a facial scan, and airport counters close in the evening. Travelers combining Laos with Thailand or Vietnam should check that any regional plan names Laos.

Best eSIM Providers for Laos

eSIM plans in Laos at a glance

How well each provider's eSIM works in Laos

The Vefru score is our overall rating of the provider. The percentage shows how many reviewers said their eSIM worked well in Laos. Since unhappy customers review more often, it is best used to compare providers with each other.

How we got these numbers: we read 19 public customer reviews that mention Laos or a place in it, published between July 2024 and July 2026, and counted a report as "worked" when the reviewer said the eSIM connected, even with small hiccups. We treat 20 or more reports as strong evidence, 3 to 19 as limited, and fewer than 3 as too few to judge. A count like 6 of 6 means the eSIM worked well for 6 of the 6 travelers who reported from here; each provider section says what went wrong for the rest. The Vefru test score is a separate number: our own hands-on test of the provider, run outside Laos, so it says how the provider behaves, not how the network performs here. Local operator prices in the text were checked on 25 September 2026; provider ratings, the plan tables and the price-per-GB chart are live and update on their own.

We chose the Best group by traveler reports first, price second and our own tests third. Only ByteSIM and Nomad have the 3 reports we need to recommend a provider. Nomad worked for 1 of 4 travelers and, in our test, its help-desk bot gave us no route to a person, so we place it in the Other group. That leaves ByteSIM as the only provider in the Best group.

ByteSIM is a Hong Kong eSIM shop with a huge catalog: daily, fixed and unlimited plans for about 200 destinations. Data was fast in our test, and travelers report it working in 88% of cases. The checkout, the app and support were the weak points.

ByteSIM eSIM in our hands

ByteSIM testing preview ByteSIM testing speed 1 ByteSIM testing speed 2 ByteSIM testing support

ByteSIM had the best record from Laos in our data, and it is the only provider we rank as a pick. It worked well for 6 of 6 travelers who reported from Laos (100%, limited evidence, under 20 reports). The review texts available to us do not include ByteSIM's, so we cannot say where in Laos these eSIMs were used or what the successes had in common.

With no failures reported, the drawbacks come from our own test, which ran in Switzerland, not Laos. Checkout asks for a phone number and a full postal address, the app is a wrapped website that showed install errors, and 5G was promised but we got 4G only. Its WhatsApp help desk did not answer within 15 minutes in our test, although some customers report fast replies. There are no top-ups, so a plan that runs out means a new purchase.

ByteSIM's page names Lao Telecom as the network, lists three "Unitel Local" variants and says no ID is needed [13]. Our comparison tool lists Unitel for all three of its Laos plans: 10 GB for 5 days, 15 GB for 10 days and 30 GB for 15 days, each with a phone number. We could not confirm whether that number can make outgoing calls, and the Unitel Local plan details were still flagged for re-verification in September 2026.

Per GB these are among the cheapest Laos plans in our comparison tool, but no plan lasts longer than 15 days. ByteSIM charges a premium for longer validity, so it looks cheapest on short trips. It suits experienced users on trips under two weeks who install at home. Our ByteSIM review shows the checkout, app and help-desk tests, and current plans are on ByteSIM's site.

Nomad eSIM in our hands

Nomad testing preview Nomad testing speed 1 Nomad testing speed 2 Nomad testing support

Nomad is not a pick for Laos: it worked well for 1 of 4 travelers who reported from here (25%, limited evidence). It is the only provider besides ByteSIM with enough reports to judge, which is why it comes first in this group, but its record and its help desk put it here. In our test, its help-desk bot looped on an APN question and gave no route to a person. The review texts available to us do not include Nomad's, so we cannot say what went wrong for the three travelers it failed or where the one success happened.

Nomad's page says it connects you to LaoTel [11]; a competitor's blog names Unitel instead, and we treat Nomad's own page as the better source. Our comparison tool lists Laos plans of 1 GB to 20 GB for 7 or 30 days, all 4G, with no unlimited plan and no calls. Its app is good and has a remaining-data widget on the home screen. Price sits close to the market average. Nomad suits only experienced users who can fix an APN problem alone; our Nomad review explains the help-desk result, and plans are on Nomad's site.

Holafly is an Irish eSIM provider built around unlimited data, with trip eSIMs for 200+ destinations. Travelers report it working more often than any other provider we track. Its weak points are speed and price: our test ran at about 30 Mbps on 5G, and its unlimited plans cost more than most.

Holafly eSIM in our hands

Holafly testing outdoor Holafly testing support Holafly testing support 2 Holafly testing speed

Holafly is an unlimited eSIM for travelers who do not want to count data, and in our test its speed was capped from the start. It worked well for 2 of 2 travelers who reported from Laos (too few to judge). A capped speed is enough for maps, messaging, browsing and streaming, and slow for large downloads, uploads, cloud backups and laptop work. Holafly's page names Lao Telecom as the network [7].

Our comparison tool lists no Holafly plan for Laos, so there is no plan table here, but Holafly's own page lists unlimited plans for Laos as of September 2026 [7]. The page limits hotspot sharing to 1 GB a day and says a fair-use slowdown applies for no more than one day [7]. There are no top-ups, so a longer stay means buying a new eSIM. The two reports do not say where in Laos it worked. Holafly sits among the dearer unlimited sellers in our price comparison. Our Holafly review covers the speed test, and plans are on Holafly's site.

Global YO eSIM in our hands

Global YO is a cheap option with a thin record here: it worked well for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Laos (too few to judge). Its page names ETL MOBILE as the network and says no ID is needed [10]. According to third-party market-share estimates, ETL is far behind Unitel and Lao Telecom. The single report does not say where in Laos the eSIM was used.

Our comparison tool lists Laos country plans from 1 GB to 100 GB for 3 to 60 days, plus Day Plans that it flags as throttled. Tethering is allowed, and it lists no unlimited plan. Global YO is among the cheapest providers in our comparison, and it gets cheaper as the plan gets bigger. Purchases happen in its app (the QR code arrives by email), and in our test the help desk was slow, with a first reply after 10 minutes and a template. Ubigi sells no Laos-only plan in our comparison tool: Laos is covered only by regional and world plans. It worked well for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Laos (too few to judge), and that review comes from a multi-country trip. The reviewer wrote on 8 May 2026: "Used both on cruises and our visits to Thailand Cambodia and Laos." It does not say where in Laos.

Ubigi's page lists ETL for Laos with no 5G [14]. Its regional and world plans in our tool run from 0.5 GB to unlimited, with validities from 1 to 360 days. In our test it had a strong network but a weak site, app and help desk: our email ticket was unanswered after 24 hours. Its app can still reach checkout at zero data, which most apps cannot. Fixed plans sit near the market average. Ubigi suits tech-savvy travelers covering several Asian countries; see our Ubigi review and Ubigi's site.

Our comparison tool lists a free starter allowance, 30-day Laos plans from 1 GB to 20 GB and no-expiry plans up to 50 GB, with no throttling. In our test (in Czechia) the preselected APN did not work until we picked another one, Google Pay failed at checkout and the eSIM is available only in the app. The help desk fixed our problem in 29 minutes. Jetpac worked for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Laos (too few to judge), and the report is about help: on 5 Feb 2026 the reviewer praised "super helpful support when I lost the network in Laos." So the one success includes a lost network that the help desk helped with. It does not say where in Laos that happened.

Our comparison tool lists Laos plans from 1 GB to 40 GB for 4, 7 or 30 days, flagged for 5G, with no unlimited plan. We could not verify which network Jetpac uses in Laos. Jetpac sells in-app voice packs and keeps WhatsApp, Maps and Uber free after the data runs out on larger plans. GoMoWorld failed for both travelers who reported from Laos (0 of 2, too few to judge, but both are misses), and we do not recommend it for Laos on this record. In July 2026 a traveler on a Southeast Asia plan found no data after flying in from Thailand, said the help desk later accepted the plan did not work in Laos, and bought a local tourist SIM instead. A July 2024 reviewer bought a Laos plan that, in their words, never worked, and spent six days with the help desk.

The pattern is a plan that never connected plus slow resolution. Our comparison tool lists Laos plans of 2 GB to 30 GB for 7 or 30 days on 4G, and it also lists Laos on a South East Asia regional plan, so a listing alone did not prevent the July 2026 failure. GoMoWorld's page names no network, only "major Laotian networks", and lists a free 500 MB trial plan [12]. In our test it had the fastest unthrottled speeds, but plans need a manual Start and humans answer only in office hours. Price is below the market average. Airalo had one report from Laos and it was a failure (0 of 1, too few to judge). The review texts available to us do not include Airalo's, so we cannot say what went wrong. Across all countries, Airalo had the weakest report record of the 14 providers in our analysis, so a miss here is not a surprise, though one report proves little.

Airalo's page names ETL as the network [6]. Our comparison tool lists Laos country plans of 1 GB to 20 GB for 3 to 30 days and unlimited plans for 3 to 30 days, with a slowdown after 3 GB a day. Regional Asialink and Discover plans also cover Laos, and Discover+ comes with a US number. Price sits at the market average, never the cheapest. eSIM4Travel has no traveler reports from Laos yet, so we cannot say how it works here. Its page names Lao Telecom as the network [5].

Our comparison tool lists Laos country plans of 1 GB to 50 GB for 1 to 30 days, and unlimited plans for 3 to 30 days at 3 GB a day before a slowdown [5]. Maya Mobile eSIM in our hands

Maya Mobile testing preview Maya Mobile testing speed 1 Maya Mobile testing speed 2 Maya Mobile testing support

Maya Mobile has no traveler reports from Laos yet. It sells one kind of plan, a global unlimited eSIM that includes Laos in our comparison tool, so there is no Laos-only plan, and it is poor value for a trip of one or two days. We could not find which network it uses in Laos.

Its plans last 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, give 5 GB a day at full speed before a slowdown, and allow hotspot and top-ups. In our test it was fast, and it showed the fairest daily limit of the unlimited plans we tested, but the WhatsApp help desk took about 9 minutes and could not see our eSIM status. It is the cheapest global unlimited plan by a wide margin in our price analysis. Maya suits trips of a week or more across several countries; see our Maya Mobile review and Maya's site.

Yesim has no traveler reports from Laos yet. Its page lists Lao Telecom, Unitel and Beeline among the operators in Laos but does not say which one a Yesim eSIM uses [9], so we treat the network as unknown.

Our comparison tool lists fixed plans of 1 GB to 20 GB for 30 days and unlimited plans for 1, 7, 15 or 30 days, which are throttled with the limit not stated. In our test the plan started at purchase, so buying close to departure matters, and the help desk was among the slowest we tested, with 15 to 60 minutes per reply. Its fixed plans are among the dearer ones in our price comparison and its unlimited plans sit at the market average. Yesim suits experienced users who want flexible unlimited days; see our Yesim review and Yesim's site.

Saily is the travel eSIM from the company behind NordVPN, with plans for about 200 destinations. It has the smoothest install we have tested, a polished app and a built-in VPN. But prices run above the market in most big European destinations, and traveler reports sit below average.

Saily has no traveler reports from Laos yet. Our comparison tool lists a single 1 GB, 7-day plan for Laos, while Saily's own page lists 3, 5, 10 and 20 GB plans of 30 days as of September 2026 [8]. The page did not name a network when we checked in September 2026.

In our test Saily had the most polished app and install, and a top-rated help desk that answered fast. Its price is among the dearest in most of the popular destinations in our price analysis, though Laos is outside that grid. Saily suits first-time users who value an easy app over a low price. Providers travelers report from Laos that we have not tested

Simify, which we have not tested, appears in one customer review from April 2026 in which a traveler lost connection at the Laos airport on a Southeast Asia plan, so it is not counted or ranked here.

Best eSIM Plans for Laos

Price per GB in Laos by eSIM Provider

How much does each provider charge per GB in Laos? The chart below compares plans of 1 to 10 GB that last 6 to 14 days, the usual range for a one- or two-week trip. Provider websites show only their own plans, so this side-by-side view is one you would otherwise have to calculate yourself. A shorter bar means a lower price per GB.

Generated 07.11.2026 08:38

The chart leaves out ByteSIM's Laos plans: they are 10 GB or more, and the 10 GB plan lasts 5 days. Country plans for Laos are sold by Airalo, ByteSIM, eSIM4Travel, GigSky, Global YO, GoMoWorld, Jetpac, Nomad, Roamless, Saily and Yesim, while Ubigi and Maya Mobile sell only regional or global plans that include Laos. Sizes run from 1 GB to 100 GB. Airalo, eSIM4Travel and Yesim list unlimited plans for Laos, and Maya Mobile has a global unlimited plan. Holafly's own page lists unlimited plans for Laos, but our comparison tool has none [7].

Read the country list on any regional plan. Two reviews in our files describe Southeast Asia plans that left travelers without data in Laos. One was a GoMoWorld plan that our comparison tool lists as covering Laos, so a listing alone is not proof.

Best eSIM for Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Remote Areas of Laos

None of the 19 traveler reports from Laos names a town in our data, so ByteSIM, our overall pick, has no city-level reports. The places below rest on coverage information, not report counts.

Where you are goingWhat the reports showOur pick
Vientiane and Wattay airportno traveler reports yetCountry pick applies
Luang Prabangno traveler reports yetCountry pick applies
Vang Vieng and the Vientiane to Luang Prabang rail lineno traveler reports yetCountry pick applies
Bolaven Plateau, Nong Khiaw and the northern mountainsno traveler reports yetCountry pick applies

Arrival is where plans failed. Two reviews in our files, one from July 2026 and one from April 2026 (an outside provider we have not tested), describe travelers who landed in Laos on a Southeast Asia plan and had no data. The April reviewer lost connection at the airport itself. Both plans were regional, so the country list is the first thing to check. Local SIM counters at Wattay and Luang Prabang keep set hours, covered in the local SIM section.

No traveler reports from the north or the south yet, so this is coverage information only. Simbye's page says signal holds along the Vientiane to Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang rail line, Route 13 and the southern towns, and drops on the Bolaven Plateau, the Nong Khiaw boat route and in Luang Namtha and Phongsali [16]. A local reseller says Unitel has the best rural coverage, but we have no network test from Laos to confirm which provider holds up best there.

Local SIM Cards and Operator eSIMs in Laos

A local SIM is much cheaper than any travel eSIM in Laos, but it takes a counter visit and a passport scan. According to a reseller's copy of Unitel's price list, local data costs a fraction of travel eSIM prices at every size. A travel eSIM wins if you land when the counters are shut or want data before you leave the airport.

Prices, as of August 2026: a local reseller copied Unitel's shop prices on 20 Aug 2026 and converts at 22,500 kip to the dollar. 1 GB for one day costs 5,000 kip (about $0.22), 15 GB for 30 days costs 50,000 kip (about $2.22) and 30 GB for 30 days costs 75,000 kip (about $3.33). These figures were flagged for re-verification, and we could not confirm taxes or airport prices. The SIM card itself costs 10,000 kip in one guide from March 2024 and 20,000 kip in another, so the guides disagree. One traveler wrote in July 2026 that they bought a 10 GB, 10-day tourist SIM in Laos for about £2 after a travel eSIM failed.

Unitel and Lao Telecom run counters in the arrivals halls at Wattay airport in Vientiane and at Luang Prabang, according to a local reseller in August 2026. Unitel has the largest counter at Wattay and Lao Telecom has the main counter at Luang Prabang. The same reseller says counters run roughly 07:00 to 21:00 at Wattay and close around 20:00 at Luang Prabang, so red-eye arrivals find them shut. A travel guide says a native Unitel eSIM is sold only at customer service centres, not at the airport. Unitel's site lists a travel SIM menu and an eKYC SIM menu (a quick identity check) [2]. Lao Telecom's own tourist eSIM storefront did not load when we checked in October 2026 [3], and the same reseller reported it was not working in August 2026.

Registration is mandatory. According to Radio Free Asia, SIM registration with a facial scan and residency details began in June 2020 and had a deadline of 16 Dec 2023. The ministry's Gov-X app (3Grab) registers SIMs for the main Lao operators, including Lao Telecom, Unitel, ETL and TPLUS [1]. A reseller said in August 2026 that the original passport is required and photocopies are generally refused. One reseller that says it is an official Unitel partner sells Unitel eSIMs with a Lao number, free incoming calls and texts and activation by calling 121, from $6.90 for 10 days as of August 2026. Its own pages disagree on the data per plan.

Mobile Networks in Laos

Unitel is reported to be the strongest network in Laos, Lao Telecom comes second and ETL is far behind. Market-share estimates differ by source and year, but all put them in that order. Vietnamese state media (VTV and VNA) reported in September 2025 that Unitel runs about 10,000 base stations covering 95% of the population, and that Ookla gave it a Speedtest award for network infrastructure, which Lao Inter Post also reported. These are third-party reports, not regulator data, and we found no regulator speed figures.

Lao Telecom covers all provinces with 2G to 4.5G, launched 5G in 2020 and relaunched it in January 2024 at 28 Vientiane sites including Wattay airport, according to press reports. TPLUS, the former Beeline, has been owned by Lao Telecom since January 2019 [4]. ETL is the smallest, and Ubigi's page lists it with no 5G [14]. Which network your eSIM uses depends on the provider, according to their own pages:

  • Lao Telecom: eSIM4Travel [5], Holafly [7], Nomad (as LaoTel) [11], Roamless (as Laotel) [15] and ByteSIM as its main network [13].
  • ETL: Airalo [6], Global YO (as ETL MOBILE) [10] and Ubigi [14].
  • Unitel: ByteSIM's "Unitel Local" variants [13], and our comparison tool lists Unitel for ByteSIM's three Laos plans. No other provider in this guide names Unitel as its network.
  • Not named: Saily [8] and GoMoWorld [12] when we checked in September 2026. Yesim lists Lao Telecom, Unitel and Beeline among Laos operators without saying which one it uses [9]. Jetpac, Maya Mobile and GigSky are unknown.

Outside the cities, coverage is patchy. The ministry's 2019 baseline had 3G in 82% of villages and 4G in 55%, and Opensignal said in October 2024 that 900 MHz spectrum still carries substantial 2G traffic in Laos. Simbye's page lists long gaps at the Kuang Si waterfalls, the Vang Vieng caves, the Bolaven Plateau, the boat to Nong Khiaw and Muang Ngoi, the mountain provinces of Luang Namtha and Phongsali, the Thakhek Loop and the Si Phan Don islands [16]. A reseller adds that 5G exists but is extremely scarce. For a trip, that means any network works in Vientiane and along the main road and rail line, and network reach matters most off those routes, where reseller reports favor Unitel. We have no test data from Laos to confirm that.

How to Set Up an eSIM for Laos

Install your eSIM at home on Wi-Fi and check that Laos is on the plan's country list. The numbered steps below cover the rest.

  1. Check that the plan lists Laos by name. A plan for Southeast Asia or Asia is not enough unless Laos is on its country list. The pages of ByteSIM [13] and Global YO [10] say no ID is needed for their eSIMs.
  2. Install at home. Most plans start on first connection, not at install. In our tests Yesim started at purchase, GoMoWorld needs a manual Start, and some Airalo packages start at install.
  3. Use the right route. eSIM4Travel, Airalo, ByteSIM, Nomad, Holafly, Ubigi, Yesim, Jetpac and Maya Mobile email a QR code. GoMoWorld, Saily, Roamless and GigSky install in the app, and Global YO needs its app to buy. See the iPhone guide and the Samsung guide.
  4. After landing, turn on data roaming for the eSIM line. If there is no data, try the APN (access point name) the provider gives. Global YO uses "globaldata", and Roamless needed a manual APN in our test. The troubleshooting guide covers the rest.
  5. Watch activation windows. In our tests eSIM4Travel allowed 90 days and Saily 180 days before the plan started on its own. GoMoWorld plans stay valid until you press Start.
  6. Top up before the data ends. In most apps the store stops working at zero data and needs Wi-Fi. GigSky and Ubigi stay reachable at zero data, and Roamless keeps a trickle.

Calls and SMS in Laos

Most eSIMs for Laos are data-only, so calls go over WhatsApp or a similar app, and Laos has the calling code +856. A few plans add a number. Our comparison tool lists a phone number on all three of ByteSIM's Laos plans, but we could not confirm that it makes outgoing calls. Airalo's Discover+ plan, which covers Laos, comes with a US number. Roamless has in-app voice calls and an optional second number, Jetpac sells in-app voice packs and Global YO has outgoing app calls. Nomad's calling plans do not include Laos.

A local SIM is the alternative: a reseller that says it is an official Unitel partner sells Unitel eSIMs with a Lao number and free incoming calls and texts, as of August 2026.

Free eSIM Data for Laos

Two providers list free data for Laos, enough to test an install but not to cover a trip. Roamless lists a free starter allowance for new users on its Laos page, as of September 2026 [15]. GoMoWorld lists a free 500 MB, 1-day trial plan on its Laos page [12]. Our free eSIM guide covers other free plans and trials.

Frequently Asked Questions About eSIMs in Laos

Which eSIM works best in Laos?
ByteSIM had the best record in traveler reports from Laos: it worked well for 6 of 6 travelers, though that is limited evidence. Nomad is the only other provider with enough reports to judge, and it worked for 1 of 4. ByteSIM's plans last only 5 to 15 days and its help desk did not answer in our test. Compare current plans with (eSIM Comparison).
What is the cheapest eSIM for Laos?
A local SIM is the cheapest way to get data in Laos, by a wide margin, based on a local reseller's copy of Unitel's price list, but it needs an in-person passport registration. Among travel eSIMs, ByteSIM's Laos plans were among the cheapest per GB in our comparison, while GigSky is among the dearest in Laos. For the wider picture, see (Cheapest eSIM 2026 - Price Comparison from $0.50 | Vefru).
Is a local SIM card better than an eSIM for tourists in Laos?
A local SIM is better on price and a travel eSIM is better on convenience. Local SIMs need a passport registration with a facial scan, and airport counters keep set hours, so late arrivals find them shut. A travel eSIM works before you leave the airport, which suits a short trip or a late landing. For the general trade-offs, see (eSIM vs SIM: Is eSIM Worth It? Comparison + Guide | Vefru).
How much data do I need for Laos?
It depends on how you use your phone, because maps, messaging and browsing use far less than video and hotspot. Laos plans in our comparison tool run from 1 GB up to 100 GB, so the size can match your habits, and plans for a week or two are enough for most short trips. To estimate your own need, use (Travel Data Calculator).
Will a Thailand or Southeast Asia eSIM work in Laos?
Only if the plan lists Laos by name. Two reviews in our files describe Southeast Asia plans that left travelers without data on arrival in Laos, one of them in July 2026. Our comparison tool lists Laos on some regional plans, so the country list is worth checking before a purchase. For Thailand plans, see (Best eSIM for Thailand (2026): 464 Traveler Reports Checked).
Which mobile network is best in Laos?
Unitel is reported to be the strongest, with the largest footprint and an Ookla award in September 2025, according to Vietnamese and Lao news reports. Lao Telecom is second and ETL is far behind by subscriber estimates. Among the providers we compare, only ByteSIM lists Unitel plans, and the others use Lao Telecom or ETL or do not say. Remote mountain areas have gaps on every network.

Summary: the best eSIM for Laos

Based on 19 traveler reports from Laos, ByteSIM is the best option among the eSIMs we compare: it worked well for 6 of 6 travelers, and its Laos plans are cheap for their size. Its weak points are short validity, a slow help desk in our test and no review text that tells us where in Laos it worked. Nomad, the only other provider with enough reports to judge, worked for 1 of 4, and every other provider has two reports or fewer.

A local SIM from Unitel or Lao Telecom costs far less than any travel eSIM and suits longer stays, at the price of a passport registration at a counter. For a late arrival, or data before you leave the airport, a travel eSIM that names Laos on its country list is the simpler route. For the best eSIM for Laos on a short trip, ByteSIM has the best evidence today.
