Best eSIM for Chile in 2026: 14 Providers Ranked by Traveler Reports

František Macháček
Best eSIM Chile
Key Takeaways

Key takeaways

Based on 51 traveler reports from Chile and our tests, the best option for most trips is Maya Mobile: it worked well for 20 of 22 travelers who reported from Chile, but it sells only a global unlimited plan. GigSky (6 of 6) suits cruises and top-ups with no data left, at a higher price. Airalo (4 of 4) is the easy first eSIM, with a Chile plan. Global YO (3 of 3) is among the cheapest here, but its help desk is slow. eSIM4Travel has no traveler reports from Chile yet; it is usually the cheapest in our comparison, but it has no app.

The best eSIM for Chile is the one that keeps working along your route, and Chile is a long country. According to Memoria Chilena, the mainland runs about 4,270 km from north to south, and Easter Island lies 3,780 km offshore. The traveler reports from Chile in our data (51 of them) and our own tests show which providers held up.

Coverage thins out away from the cities. Fixed internet reaches 25.5% of rural households against 77.3% of urban ones [1]. Simbye, an eSIM seller we have not tested, lists dead zones on off-road Atacama tracks, the Torres del Paine circuit, the Carretera Austral and high Andes passes. Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Ubigi, ByteSIM and Roamless each name Movistar as their Chilean network on their own pages (as of September 2026).

Two Chilean rules affect your choice. Chilean media, citing Subtel, report that prepaid SIM registration with a passport or national ID has been in force since 20 August 2026, which slows down buying a local SIM. A travel eSIM that only roams is exempt from the registration rule for foreign phones on Chilean SIMs [2].

Best eSIM Providers for Chile

eSIM plans in Chile at a glance

How well each provider's eSIM works in Chile

The Vefru score is our overall rating of the provider. The percentage shows how many reviewers said their eSIM worked well in Chile. Since unhappy customers review more often, it is best used to compare providers with each other.

How we got these numbers: we read 51 public customer reviews that mention Chile or a place in it, published between July 2025 and July 2026, and counted a report as "worked" when the reviewer said the eSIM connected, even with small hiccups. We treat 20 or more reports as strong evidence, 3 to 19 as limited, and fewer than 3 as too few to judge. A count like 20 of 22 means the eSIM worked well for 20 of the 22 travelers who reported from here; each provider section says what went wrong for the rest. The Vefru test score is a separate number: our own hands-on test of the provider, run outside Chile, so it says how the provider behaves, not how the network performs here. Local operator prices in the text were checked on 25 September 2026; provider ratings, the plan tables and the price-per-GB chart are live and update on their own.

We chose the Best group by coverage first, price second and our own tests third. Maya Mobile, GigSky, Airalo and Global YO have 3 or more traveler reports and the best records here. eSIM4Travel is included for its price and help desk although no traveler has reported from Chile yet. Yesim and Holafly also have 3 or more reports, but each had one miss, and our tests found one of the slowest help desks (Yesim) and capped speeds (Holafly), so they sit in the second group.

Maya Mobile eSIM in our hands

Maya Mobile testing preview Maya Mobile testing speed 1 Maya Mobile testing speed 2 Maya Mobile testing support

Maya Mobile is the best option for trips of a week or more in Chile, because it has by far the most traveler reports: it worked well for 20 of 22 travelers who reported from Chile (91%, strong evidence). The reports came from Santiago, Puerto Natales, Easter Island and Patagonia, so the successes span the capital, the far south and the island.

Two travelers reported a miss. One was in Torres del Paine National Park; our data does not place the other. Torres del Paine is also on the list of stretches where Simbye, an eSIM seller we have not tested, reports dead zones. Maya does not name its Chilean network on its page (checked September 2026), so we cannot say which network it rides.

Maya sells no Chile-only plan and nothing for small needs. Its plans are global unlimited plans for 3, 7, 14 or 30 days, with 5 GB a day at full speed and slower speeds after that. Hotspot is allowed. In our test (run in Czechia) it had the fairest unlimited rule of the providers we tested. The install was one tap, but you set the APN and roaming yourself, and the help desk needed a bot, a form and about nine minutes to reach a person. It is the cheapest global unlimited plan in our price comparison, which makes it a poor fit for a weekend with small data needs. Our hands-on Maya Mobile review has the test details, and you can see the plans on Maya Mobile's site.

GigSky is a US travel eSIM that works like its own operator, with plans for 190+ destinations plus cruise, ferry and in-flight plans. Its app stays partly online after your data runs out. But its fixed-data plans are the most expensive of the 12 providers we compared.

GigSky eSIM in our hands

GigSky testing outdoor GigSky testing speed 1 GigSky testing speed 2 GigSky testing support

GigSky is the best fit for cruises and ferries, and for travelers who may run out of data far from Wi-Fi. It worked well for 6 of 6 travelers who reported from Chile (limited evidence). One of the reports came from Patagonia; our data does not place the other five.

None of the six reports was a miss, so there is nothing to explain from Chile. In our test (run in Switzerland) speeds felt unstable on 5G, but the help desk answered at once. The app stays partly online after the data runs out, so you can buy a new plan without Wi-Fi; only Ubigi matched that. You must install the app to buy, and there is no Google Pay.

GigSky sells Chile-only plans from 1 GB to 10 GB with validity from 7 to 30 days, plus a 1-day unlimited pass. Regional and cruise plans cover Latin America and the Caribbean. It is among the most expensive providers in our price comparison, so it suits small plans and cruises better than heavy data. We could not confirm its Chilean network, because its own page showed none when we checked. Our GigSky review covers the cruise tests, and the Chile plans are on GigSky's Chile page.

Airalo eSIM in our hands

Airalo testing outdoor Airalo testing speed 1 Airalo testing speed 2 Airalo testing support

Airalo is the easy first eSIM for Chile: it worked well for 4 of 4 travelers who reported from Chile (limited evidence), and it sells Chile-only plans. One report came from Santiago; our data does not place the other three.

None of the four was a miss. That sample is small: across all countries, Airalo has the weakest record of the 14 providers in traveler reports. In our test (run in Switzerland) data worked at once with no settings. The app stops working at zero data, and some packages start at install rather than at first connection.

The Chile-only plans (called Altoque) run from 1 GB to 20 GB for 3 to 30 days. Unlimited plans come in 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 30 days: 3 GB a day, then slower, and hotspot use counts toward that allowance. Airalo's own Chile page names Movistar as the primary network (as of September 2026). Regional Latin America plans and global Discover plans cover wider trips. Its price sits at the market average, never the cheapest. See our Airalo review for the full test, or Airalo's Chile page for the plans.

Global YO eSIM in our hands

Global YO testing outdoor Global YO testing speed 1 Global YO testing speed 2 Global YO testing support

Global YO is the best fit for travelers who install at home and want cheap data in larger sizes. It worked well for 3 of 3 travelers who reported from Chile (limited evidence). Two of its reports mention Patagonia (shared with Argentina), so the record leans toward the far south.

There were no misses. The weak spots come from our test (run in Switzerland): the help desk answered in about 10 minutes with a generic template and took more than 30 minutes for a follow-up. You must use the app to buy, the app stops at zero data, and a deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled. You also switch mobile data to the eSIM yourself and set the APN.

The Chile plans run from 1 GB to 100 GB with validity from 3 to 60 days, plus day plans with a daily allowance and a Latin America regional plan. There is no unlimited plan. Its price position is usually among the cheapest in our comparison, more so for larger plans. Tethering is allowed on the plans, though reports on hotspot use are mixed. We could not confirm its Chilean network. Our Global YO review has the test details, and the plans are on Global YO's Chile page.

eSIM4Travel eSIM in our hands

eSIM4Travel testing outdoor eSIM4Travel testing speed 1 eSIM4Travel testing speed 2 eSIM4Travel testing support

Based on our tests, eSIM4Travel suits travelers who want a low price and a human help desk. No traveler has reported from Chile yet, so we cannot say how it performs here. Its price position is usually among the cheapest in our comparison.

With no reports there is no miss to explain. In our test (run in Switzerland) the help-desk bot passed us to a person in one click, the person solved the problem, and the eSIM installed from a QR code and worked right away. It has no app and no Google Pay, and once the data runs out you cannot top up without Wi-Fi.

The Chile plans run from 1 GB to 20 GB with validity from 1 to 30 days, plus unlimited plans for 3 to 15 days (3 GB a day, then slower). A Latin America regional plan is also sold. Validity starts at first connection, and tethering is available. Our comparison tool lists the Chile plans as Movistar, but we could not confirm the network on eSIM4Travel's own page. Yesim suits experienced travelers who want flexible unlimited plans by the day. One of the four travelers who reported from Chile had a miss (it worked well for 3 of 4, limited evidence), and our test found one of the slowest help desks. Our data does not place the miss or the successes in a city.

The Chile plans run from 1 GB to 20 GB for 30 days, plus unlimited plans for 1, 7, 15 and 30 days with a fair-use slowdown and no published limit. Yesim's page does not name its Chilean network (checked September 2026). In our test (run in Switzerland) the plan started at purchase, so buying close to the trip matters, and replies from the help desk took 15 to 60 minutes. The page lists a 180-day activation window and no ID check. Fixed plans are on the expensive side and unlimited is at the market average. Holafly eSIM in our hands

Holafly testing outdoor Holafly testing support Holafly testing support 2 Holafly testing speed

Holafly suits travelers who want unlimited data without thinking about it and can accept capped speeds. In our test, Holafly's speed was capped from the start. That is enough for maps, messaging, browsing and streaming, but slow for large downloads, uploads, cloud backups and laptop work. It worked well for 2 of 3 travelers who reported from Chile (67%, limited evidence), and the one miss was in Santiago.

Our data does not say why the Santiago traveler had a miss. Holafly's own Chile page lists unlimited plans for 1 to 90 days on Movistar (it names Telefónica) as of September 2026. The page also warns that coverage is weak in deserts and mountains, as stated by Holafly. The hotspot is limited to 1 GB a day, and there are no top-ups: you buy a new eSIM instead. Our comparison tool held no Holafly plan for Chile at export, so there is no plan table here. Its price position is dearer than other unlimited providers. Our Holafly review has the speed test, and current terms are on Holafly's Chile page.

Ubigi suits tech-savvy travelers who want a strong network in our test and a top-up that works at zero balance. It worked well for 2 of 2 travelers who reported from Chile (too few to judge). One wrote on 7 July 2026, "As a new user, this has been amazing in Chile!" The other said it worked in Chile but found the app unfriendly.

The Chile plans come in 1, 3, 10 and 25 GB for 7 to 30 days, with no 5 GB or 20 GB size, plus unlimited plans for 7 and 30 days. Ubigi's Chile page names Movistar and says unlimited slows after 60 GB (as of September 2026). In our test (run in Czechia) speeds were strong and unthrottled. The help desk was the worst outcome we tested, with an email ticket unanswered after 24 hours, and the app is the weakest we tested. The Chile country plans run from 1 GB to 30 GB for 4 to 30 days and are 4G only in our comparison tool. Jetpac's own page also lists an unlimited 30-day plan (3 GB a day, then slower), which our tool did not carry, so check it before relying on it. Its 20 GB plan costs more than its 30 GB plan in Chile (as of September 2026), so 30 GB is the better deal. We could not confirm its network. In our test (run in Switzerland) the app was rough and the help desk took about eight minutes to reply. Prices are on the expensive side for 3 to 20 GB. Our Jetpac review has the test details, and the plans are on Jetpac's site.

GoMoWorld eSIM in our hands

GoMoWorld suits heavy-data travelers who install at home and remember to press Start. The one traveler who reported from Chile said it worked there (1 of 1, too few to judge). On 28 April 2026 that traveler wrote, "I was able to use GoMoWorld in Chile," but could not get a Latin America plan working in Colombia.

The Chile plans are 1 GB for 7 days and 5, 10 or 15 GB for 30 days, with Latin America regional plans too. There is no unlimited plan and no calls, hotspot is allowed, and the clock starts only when you activate. In our test (run in Austria) it was the fastest provider and unthrottled. But the plan does nothing until you press Start in the app, the eSIM comes only through the app with one device per account, and humans answer only in office hours. Its page names no network (checked September 2026). Its price is below the market average, best from 5 GB. Our GoMoWorld review has the test details, and the plans are on GoMoWorld's site.

Roamless is a US provider built around one global eSIM for 203 destinations, paid with pay-as-you-go credit. It was fast and unthrottled in our test, and travelers report it working in 91% of cases. Its weak point is buying: the website forces you into the app, and large data amounts cost more than most rivals.

Roamless suits light users who cross several countries and want credit that never expires. It worked well for 1 of 1 travelers who reported from Chile (too few to judge).

The Chile-only plans run 30 days from 1 GB to 50 GB with no speed limit stated. Pay-as-you-go credit has no volume discount, and a small free trial plan exists. Roamless's page names Movistar (as of September 2026). In our test (run in Czechia) the preselected APN did not work. The fix was to select "Proximus Internet" with Wi-Fi off. The eSIM comes only through the app, and a person answered the chat in 29 minutes. Its price is at the market average and dear above 10 GB. Our Roamless review has the test details, and the plans are on Roamless's Chile page.

ByteSIM suits experienced travelers who want a very long plan list. Its one traveler report from Chile was a miss (0 of 1, too few to judge), and our data does not say what went wrong. Our test also found a clumsy checkout and a help desk that did not answer on WhatsApp within 15 minutes.

The Chile plans include daily plans of 500 MB to 3 GB a day, fixed sizes from 3 GB to 50 GB, and unlimited plans, all with validity from 1 to 30 days. Plans slow down after the quota. ByteSIM's page names Movistar as its primary network, with Claro and Entel as backup on its voice plans (as of September 2026). There are no top-ups, and unused plans can be refunded within 180 days. Its price is at the market average, dearer in the Americas. Our ByteSIM review has the test details, and the plans are on ByteSIM's site.

Saily suits first-timers who want the smoothest app and install in our test, but no traveler has reported from Chile yet. Its help desk was among the fastest we tested, and the app was the best polished.

The Chile plans run from 1 GB to 20 GB with validity from 7 to 30 days, plus Latin America regional and global plans. There is no unlimited plan for Chile. Saily's page does not name a network (checked September 2026), and two third-party sources disagree, one saying Movistar and one saying Entel. The page says there are no hotspot restrictions and gives a 180-day activation window. An optional phone number is a US number. Its price is among the highest in many popular destinations. Our Saily review has the test details, and the plans are on Saily's Chile page.

Best eSIM Plans for Chile

Price per GB in Chile by eSIM Provider

How much does each provider charge per GB in Chile? The chart below compares plans of 1 to 10 GB that last 6 to 14 days, the usual range for a one- or two-week trip. Provider websites show only their own plans, so this side-by-side view is one you would otherwise have to calculate yourself. A shorter bar means a lower price per GB.

Generated 05.11.2026 09:26

Fixed plans for Chile start at 1 GB with most providers and reach 100 GB at Global YO. Unlimited plans for Chile come from Airalo (3 GB a day, then slower), eSIM4Travel (3 GB a day), Nomad (2 GB a day), Ubigi, Yesim and ByteSIM, while GigSky sells only a 1-day unlimited pass. Maya Mobile sells only global unlimited plans. If your trip also covers Peru, you can compare plans for Chile and Peru together, and our Peru guide covers the other half. Best eSIM for Santiago, Patagonia and Easter Island

Maya Mobile, our overall pick, has city-level reports here: it is the only provider with 3 or more reports in Santiago. Patagonia has 4 reports shared with Argentina, and no provider has 3 or more in any other place.

Where you are goingWhat the reports showOur pick
SantiagoMaya Mobile 4/4, Airalo 1/1, Holafly 0/1Maya Mobile (Airalo's one report also worked)
Patagonia (shared with Argentina)Maya Mobile 1/1, GigSky 1/1, Global YO 2/2Country pick applies, no provider has 3 or more reports here
Puerto Natalestoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Easter Islandtoo few reportsCountry pick applies
Torres del Paine National Parktoo few reportsCountry pick applies

Best eSIM for Santiago

Maya Mobile is the pick for Santiago: it worked well for 4 of 4 travelers who reported from the capital, the largest city sample in our data. Airalo's one Santiago report also worked. Holafly's one Santiago report was a miss, and our data does not say why. Opensignal measured the fastest 5G downloads in Santiago on Movistar, the network Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Ubigi, ByteSIM and Roamless name on their own pages. Our reports do not mention the airport, so we cannot say how the providers behaved on arrival.

Best eSIM for Patagonia

No provider has 3 or more reports from Patagonia, so the country pick, Maya Mobile, applies. The four reports shared with Argentina are Global YO 2 of 2, GigSky 1 of 1 and Maya Mobile 1 of 1, and none was a miss. Maya Mobile also had 2 of 2 in Puerto Natales, but one Maya Mobile traveler reported a miss in Torres del Paine National Park. One reviewer of an eSIM seller we have not tested wrote in April 2026 that they had coverage across most remote places, including the Atacama desert, but not in southern Patagonia. Simbye, another seller we have not tested, lists dead zones on the Torres del Paine circuit. The evidence points to gaps on remote routes with any provider, so downloading offline maps before you leave the towns is sensible.

Easter Island has one report: Maya Mobile worked there. The network picture is unclear, because Movistar's own prepaid terms limit Rapa Nui to its local 2G network (the document is undated) [3], while Entel says it offers 5G on Rapa Nui [4]. We could not confirm whether the Movistar limit applies to travel eSIMs that roam. No provider is confirmed on Entel for data, so check with your provider before you rely on an eSIM on the island.

Local SIM Cards and Operator eSIMs in Chile

A local Entel prepaid SIM beats a travel eSIM for heavy data, long stays and local calls, and loses on short trips because of registration and setup. All figures below are as of September 2026.

  • New Entel line: 1 GB, 30 minutes and free social apps for 7 days. A top-up of at least CLP 2,000 in the first two months adds 1 GB and 30 minutes for 7 days [5].
  • Recarga Mágica: a top-up of exactly CLP 10,000 gives 50 GB, 700 minutes and social apps for 30 days [5]. At about CLP 915 to the US dollar (rates seen in mid-2026), that is roughly US$11.
  • Plan Fácil: CLP 8,000 for 40 GB and 600 minutes, or CLP 10,000 for 60 GB and 1,000 minutes, for a calendar month. It renews from your balance [5].
  • Limits: top-up balance lasts 90 days, a line is cancelled after 180 days of inactivity, and chips activated since 27 August 2023 work only in 3G, 4G or 5G phones [5].

Entel says foreigners can open a number with a passport number, and sells SIMs in its stores, department stores, supermarkets, pharmacies and kiosks [5]. Entel does not state whether the bundle prices include VAT. Movistar's prepaid terms list "free GB" bundles with caps from 2 GB for an hour to 120 GB for 12 days, speeds that may fall after the cap, and activation within 24 hours [3]. We could not confirm Movistar, Claro or WOM prices.

Registration is the catch. Chilean media, citing Subtel, report that prepaid lines must be registered with a full name, a passport or national ID, an address and a phone number since 20 August 2026, online or in person. Entel gives unregistered lines 10 days, then blocks top-ups. If you put a Chilean SIM in a foreign phone, Subtel's Multibanda rule blocks the phone after 30 days unless you register it, which you can do within 60 days of entry for one device a year at no cost. A phone used only on roaming or Wi-Fi is exempt [2].

Airport kiosks look expensive. An undated third-party report lists a kiosk price of CLP 12,000 for 1 GB and 160 minutes over 7 days on Movistar, and CLP 22,000 for 3 GB and 200 minutes over 15 days on Entel. These figures pre-date the registration rule and are unconfirmed, but they suggest airport counters charge about the travel-eSIM rate for far less data. Sources also disagree on whether tourists can buy an operator eSIM: one says Entel requires an existing line and a biometric check, another says only contract plans get one, so we could not confirm it. For 50 GB, the Entel top-up costs about a quarter of the 50 GB Chile-only eSIM plan in our comparison tool.

Mobile Networks in Chile

Entel is the strongest network in Chile in independent tests, but no travel eSIM in our research is confirmed on it for data. By share of mobile internet connections in the first half of 2026, Entel leads with 35.2%, followed by WOM with 24.3%, ClaroVTR with 21% and Movistar with 18.5%. There were 10.8 million 5G connections against 11.4 million on 4G [1].

According to Opensignal's March 2026 Chile report (data from October to December 2025), Entel won coverage experience, 5G availability and consistency, while Movistar had the fastest 5G downloads but the lowest 5G availability. nPerf's 2026 ranking put Entel and Movistar first together. Movistar was the fastest on 5G in Santiago, Temuco, Valparaíso and Rancagua, and slowest overall in Greater La Serena, where Entel was best. Entel says it has 5G in more than 300 communes, on Rapa Nui and in Antarctica [4].

  • Movistar, named on the provider's own page: Airalo, Holafly, Nomad, Ubigi, ByteSIM and Roamless.
  • Movistar, listed in our comparison tool: eSIM4Travel, which we could not confirm on its own page.
  • No network named or confirmed: Maya Mobile, GigSky, Global YO, Yesim, GoMoWorld, Jetpac and Saily.

For a trip, this means the eSIMs that name a network mostly ride Movistar. That is fine in cities, and the weak spots are remote places. Movistar's prepaid terms limit Rapa Nui to 2G [3], and we could not confirm whether that applies to roaming eSIMs.

How to Set Up an eSIM for Chile

Install your eSIM at home on Wi-Fi, because most plans do not start until you first connect in Chile.

  1. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked.
  2. Buy and install before you fly. Some providers sell only through their app (GoMoWorld, Saily, Roamless, GigSky, and Global YO for purchase). Activation windows run from 90 days (eSIM4Travel) to 180 days (Saily, Yesim).
  3. Know the exceptions: in our test Yesim's plan started at purchase, and GoMoWorld needs a manual Start.
  4. After landing, turn on the eSIM line and data roaming.
  5. If data does not start, check the APN: Maya Mobile and Global YO use "globaldata", Roamless worked after selecting "Proximus Internet", GigSky uses "gigsky" and Ubigi "mobiledata".
  6. Keep Wi-Fi access for top-ups, because most apps stop working at zero data. GigSky and Ubigi are the exceptions.

Step-by-step phone guides cover iPhone and Samsung, and our troubleshooting guide helps if a plan does not connect.

Calls and SMS in Chile

Chile's calling code is +56, and no Chile plan in our comparison tool lists minutes or SMS. Most travel eSIMs are data-only, so calls go over WhatsApp or a similar app. Some providers add voice or numbers: Jetpac sells in-app voice packs, Roamless offers in-app calls and an optional second number (US, Canada, UK or Australia), Global YO has outgoing calls over the internet, and Saily and Airalo's Discover+ offer a US number. ByteSIM's own page lists voice bundles for Chile that our tool did not carry (as of September 2026).

For a Chilean number, a local prepaid SIM is the alternative: Entel's plans include minutes, for example 30 minutes on a new line and 700 minutes with the large top-up [5].

Free eSIM Data for Chile

Three providers offer free trial data that works in Chile. GoMoWorld's Chile page lists a 1-day, 100 MB trial on 4G. Roamless lists a free trial plan of 350 MB for Chile that runs for 30 days after activation. Nomad has a trial plan flagged in our comparison tool. Our free eSIM guide lists more trials, which are small and good only for a test before you buy a full plan.

Frequently Asked Questions About eSIMs in Chile

Which is the best eSIM for Chile?
Maya Mobile had the best record in traveler reports from Chile: 20 of 22 travelers said it worked, with reports from Santiago to Patagonia and Easter Island. It sells only global unlimited plans. For a Chile-only plan, Airalo (4 of 4) and GigSky (6 of 6) had perfect but smaller samples. Compare current plans with (eSIM Comparison).
What is the cheapest eSIM for Chile?
eSIM4Travel and Global YO are usually the cheapest providers in our price comparison. Chile is outside the 24 destinations we grid, so the position here is less certain. eSIM4Travel has no traveler reports from Chile yet, while Global YO worked for 3 of 3 travelers. Live prices are in (eSIM Comparison).
How much data do I need for Chile?
It depends on maps, video and hotspot use, so there is no single number. Chile plans start at 1 GB and run up to 100 GB, and unlimited plans suit long routes with a hotspot. For a number based on your own habits, use (Travel Data Calculator).
Can tourists buy a SIM card in Chile?
Yes, Entel says foreigners can open a prepaid number with a passport number. Since 20 August 2026 prepaid lines must be registered, and a foreign phone on a Chilean SIM must be registered with Subtel after 30 days. A travel eSIM that only roams is exempt. See the local SIM section for the offers.
Which eSIM works best in Santiago?
Maya Mobile did: it worked well for 4 of 4 travelers who reported from Santiago. Airalo's one Santiago report also worked, while Holafly's one report was a miss, and our data does not say why. Holafly's speed was also capped in our test. Compare plans with (eSIM Comparison).
Does an eSIM work on Easter Island and in Patagonia?
Sometimes: one Maya Mobile traveler reported it worked on Easter Island, and four reports from Patagonia (shared with Argentina) did not include a miss. But Movistar's prepaid terms limit Rapa Nui to 2G, and we could not confirm whether that applies to roaming eSIMs. Remote routes such as Torres del Paine have reported dead zones.

Summary: the best eSIM for Chile

Based on 51 traveler reports and our tests, Maya Mobile is the best option for most trips: it worked well for 20 of 22 travelers, but it sells only global unlimited plans. GigSky (6 of 6) suits cruises and top-ups with no data left, and its weakness is a higher price. Airalo (4 of 4) is the easy first eSIM, though its sample is small. Global YO (3 of 3) is among the cheapest here, but its help desk is slow.

eSIM4Travel has no traveler reports from Chile yet. It is usually the cheapest in our comparison and has a human help desk, but no app. Yesim, Holafly and the other providers each have a drawback explained above, so the best eSIM for Chile depends on your route, your data needs and whether you need a Chile-only plan.
